We apologize for the lack of more regular updates.

We are making this game on our own timetable, not under time pressure. That said, Early Access Alpha v1.5 is coming in a week or two with a bunch of fixes to the Act 1 content. :)

We're working on the remaining content of the game at a pace that best suits us and the game itself. We're a tiny indie studio and have other contracts on the go to make ends meet. This is a passion project that will take some time to fully get done - the completion dates for the various roadmap milestones (see the Holidays 2017 announcement for details) are officially "When they're done".

We are still looking for more new folks to play the game and actively engage with us on our Discord ( https://discord.gg/jAMSJ5 ) to report bugs and issues, as that is largely what we're doing with Act 1 content right now (as in, all the levels in the currently public version of the game). Or maybe post in the iDGi forum[interdimensionalgames.com] and come say hi? :)

We've also been tracking down a very nasty crash bug that has regrettably plagued the game for quite some time. Luckily it doesn't usually manifest until many hours into the game, and only for certain levels, but it's still one of our principal concerns.

The remaining half of the game is what we're steadily working towards now - the Early Access Alpha public Steam build won't be getting these levels for quite some time. Early Access Fig backers will be getting exclusive first access for early testing.

Watch for coming Act 2 Tower development Twitch streams[www.twitch.tv] . We really appreciate everyone's patience while we work on the rest of the game's content!

Consortium: The Tower is an immensely complicated video game. If we rush the remaining work, we too easily risk really deviating from our original vision for the game and disapointing everyone who wants only the very best game in the end. :)

From April:

v1.5 has been delayed for a variety of reasons. It is still coming, as is a dev stream or two. Life sometimes has a way of complicating timeframes.

We have a rather big surprise in the works, something noone expects...

Early Access Alpha 1.5 is here: Combat re-balanced + Demo updated + 212121

Greetings Seekers,

We have just made v1.5 live for you all. We’ve also updated the demo to include all of the latest fixes and polish. Click HERE to see a complete list of all the updates and fixes we’ve made to the game for you.

The biggest change/improvement revolves around combat balance - the early game is now much easier, giving new players more time and space to understand the game’s mechanics and systems. We aren’t declaring that the game is completely free of issues, but it is now quite stable and we’re continuing to fix and polish things as quickly as we’re able to.

Here is a complete list of the things iDGi is working on right now:

-Continued polish, fixing and improving all Act 1 content (i.e the game you all have access to now).
-Act 2 content development ongoing, screenshots coming soon!
-A secret partnership centered around a brand new feature for The Tower that no-one is expecting. Fig Backers will be learning about this first, but watch for a big official announcement in the coming weeks!
-A FREE Consortium choose-your-own-adventure digital prequel story is coming to Android and iOS devices! We haven’t truly announced it yet, but we’re quite close to a first release to our Fig Backers. A PC version will be coming to Steam sometime afterwards...

We have largely been silent over the past few months, and we apologize for any misconceptions that may be floating around out there as to WHY. Please always remember, this is a pure passion project for us, and we will never stop working on it until it’s done… even if it kills us, and we have to reincarnate ourselves!

That being fact, in true indie developer fashion, we are all juggling various life responsibilities and contracts along with working on The Tower, so we need to maximize the use of our time. There’s still a lot of game to get done here, and creatively we very much need to be able to work on the game in our own way, without any time pressure or outside influences.

So, we deeply appreciate all of your continued patience and understanding, even if we appear to go dark for long periods of time.

Early Access ALPHA v1.6 is here! AUTOMAP 2.0 edition

Early Access ALPHA v1.6
For a detailed look at the changes, go HERE .
  • The Automap has received a complete overhaul. It's not done yet, but it's much closer to done now and should be far more useful as a navigational tool.
  • The hotel lobby and hotel room levels have recevied a MAJOR design improvement and optimization pass. The result is frame rate increases of 3-4X in spots and superior player flow.
  • Based on feedback since the last update, a variety of improvements and bug fixes have been made across all systems. See the full release notes for specifics.
To help give an idea of how much of the Tower is available to explore right now, here's an image of the new Automap with all of Act 1 mapped out (minus labels to avoid spoilers).

Green = Standard interior sections.
Hard Yellow = Major door/entrance, connecting two areas.
Blue = Water/Flooded sections
Red = Vents/Industrial sections

Act 2 and future content update

The super secret feature we have been teasing is now being tested and is accessible to all Fig backers. If you'd like another copy of the game to give to a friend, backing us on Fig[www.fig.co] will grant you access to the backer-only versions of The Tower and hidden sections of the forum[interdimensionalgames.com] and iDGi Discord Community[discord.gg]. It is also a key way to help us get the game done faster!

It is unclear just yet when we will be launching the "secret new feature" publicly, but stay tuned as developments are made. But rest assured, as soon as it's announced, it will be available to play.

Here is another glimpse at upcoming Act 2 content for you all. A snow filled office corridor, somewhere within the Churchill Tower. What is that in the distance?

Early Access ALPHA 1.7 - Now with more Norwegians!

Greetings Seekers,

We have just pushed Consortium: The Tower Early Access ALPHA 1.7 live. The complete list of the changes made can be found HERE.

We're working on many other things in addition to The Tower. So to reward everyone's ongoing patience, we have decided to give everyone access to two brand new Act 2 levels - the rather large OfficeHub5, and the very unique SideVents. Both require some stalwart exploration to uncover...can you find them?

While these two new levels are still relatively early, they are at a stage where we would benefit from additional feedback and comments, so as always please swing by Discord.[discord.gg] and let us know if you have anything to report. Thank-you!

In addition, there are now over 350 new lines of V.O dialog in the game - the hotel mercs are robots no more! We proudly welcome Magnus Tranum and Anders Tranum to the cast of The Tower. This is a big step towards replacing all of the "robot voices" in the game.

Finally, we wanted to call everyone's attention to a really cool video about immersive sims that Logitech G put out a few months ago.

It is. Mind, it is more of an FP adventure game with FP combat tacked on rather than actual FPS RPG.

You can't really see the full game through one playthrough, either. The full experience, as in understanding what the fuck is going on, requires maybe 2 or 3 playthroughs because some sections of the game are mutually exclusive.

Early Access ALPHA 1.8 is live! Now with AutoTalk...

Hello again Seekers,

Consortium: The Tower Early Access ALPHA 1.8 has just been made live. A complete list of the changes made can be found HERE. This update includes a smorgasbord of fixes and updates.

Today's biggest improvement: AutoTalk. The "T" button to bring down talk options is now a thing of the past. Talk options will now automatically present themselves as they become available.

We've also just released a new trailer for The Tower on the store page and on YouTube, please consider sharing with your friends!



To try and keep this update brief but informative, here's a quick bullet point list of important things we want to say:
  • We are zeroing in on finally reaching BETA for Act 1 of Consortium: The Tower. There are still issues to clear and a lot of work to be done, but the goal is clearly visible now.
  • This project is not cancelled. This project will NEVER be cancelled. We are just moving at our own pace to complete it. We deeply appreciate everyone's ongoing patience and support as we slowly but steadily work towards the finish line. :)
  • TO ALL FIG BACKERS READING THIS: Your version of the game will be getting updated very shortly. Also a new Fig update with a big surprise gift for all of you is coming! Watch for this to drop within the next two weeks...
  • We have two BIG surprises in store for all fans of iDGi and Consortium. There is also the previously mentioned secret feature for The Tower still coming. (currently only Fig backers have access to this...)
Just a heads up: Other than some new screenshots of in development stuff, we may be going a little dark again for the next few months or so, as we work away in our development caves on a number of things.

My impression is that the iDGi team is basically the MacMartin brothers plus the most affordable freelancers/family friends/volunteers they can find.

Early Access ALPHA 1.9 is live. Now less buggy and more balanced!

Consortium: The Tower Early Access ALPHA 1.9 has just been made live. A complete list of the changes made can be found HERE.

AutoTalk now functions much better - no longer will it be stuck down, and AI should now always turn to face you if you talk at them.

In addition, the Hotel floors 169, 170 and 171 have all received a polish and optimization pass - many issues were solved and those levels now should run much faster on machines with less than optimal CPUs.

Early Access ALPHA 1.10 is live. More immersion!

Consortium: The Tower Early Access ALPHA 1.10 has just been made live. A complete list of the changes made can be found HERE.

This is mostly a "quality of life" patch, where we fixed some of the most glaring immersion breaking bugs. We also made some more significant balancing changes based on some playtest data.

The biggest improvement - Odin's section of the Lobby has received the same optimization and level design/art polish pass that the Hotel rooms got last month. The entire Hotel is now quite close to beta, in terms of it's completion level...

To all of our backers reading this - there is a recent backer update on our Forum.[interdimensionalgames.com] that explains the additional delay. New Fig update with a surprise gift is only a few days away...

On December 21, 2028, a small multinational team was tasked with a mission of utmost secrecy: infiltrate a secret facility deep in the mountains of Japan, and on behalf of the Japanese government take back control of one of the world’s last Weapons of Mass Destruction.

Enter the mind of a commander of this military team. Whisper commands, supplant his thoughts and direct his actions.

YOU decide if he lives or dies, succeeds or fails, but always remember: the human you are inhabiting is not a character made of pixels that you can use and discard without applying a moral compass. He is a real person living his life in a parallel universe who is at first unaware of our presence in his mind. It may be your whim to toss his life to the winds, but as you read about his demise in text form, somewhere out there a real man bleeds to death in the dark...

THE TEAM
Robert Jenkins: The man you will be connected to. Leader of the mission as recommended by Colin Wheats. Canadian military background, but since the Wars has worked off and on under various roles for the Global Senate. Is married, no kids, and finds himself feeling out of his depth going into this mission.

Colin Wheats: Supposedly ex-Mi6, but was born in America. During the Wars, Wheats was usually found deep undercover, but since then has found a home as the top Asian Region specialist for the Global Senate. His ties to remaining military forces in the region gives him a geopolitical advantage, often resulting in gaining access to situations even before government leaders do.

Philip Lancaster: On the surface, Lancaster is a political functionary who is, for all intents and purposes, the mission’s “handler.” Spy by nature, his true nationality is unknown and the vast majority of information on his work has been mostly redacted or buried by the powers that be. With a happy go lucky personality, Lancaster has been known to say that life is like a video game that should be played until all of its potential secrets and achievements have been found.

Jiang Shi: The most mysterious member of the team, but also its most important. A Chinese national, currently exiled from her homeland due to her involvement in a supposedly botched infiltration mission while working for the Global Senate. Jiang has intimate knowledge of the super-weapon in question and intends to help disable it once and for all.

Eliska Soltz: Ex-Israeli Special Forces, specializing in recon and technological infiltration. Contracted by the Global Senate specifically for this mission, and is the only team member without any previous ties to them. She is known to be a little volatile even at the best of times, and is immediately suspicious of Jenkins’ role in the mission.

Every time I see an update in this topic and I go to open it I expect it to say they ran out of funds 1 year ago and are finally giving up trying to finish it.
