Great, I managed a 2-day suspension because I said someone was "probably too dumb" - well, at least that'll help resist my urge to post silly provocative message on TESF.
Your sig, the quote to be exact, dictates the behavior of the mods on the ESF. If I was in charge there I wouldn't give a damn if someone insulted poor Joe Somebody by calling him dumb. I mean, come on, calling someone dumb is so first-grade, and anyone past the age of a first-grader should neither be offended or take offense to that.

Yeah, I saw that. The first reply was "great that someone likes the game!". A complete moron may post an absolutely retarded post but if it's positive, the fanboi will cheer and use it as an absolute proof of Oblivion awesomeness.

I've just passed a two day suspension received for some light-hearted banter I had with Damar Stiehl. I was curious about his 'get bent' attitude towards other people. He explained that this was due to '...being a Dunmer, I can't get a Personality score above 90.' I responded with 'Ah, so that's the reason. I'd assumed that your daddy had done nasty things to you when you were a child, or something similar.'

I then get a suspension and a message saying 'Flaming isn't tolerated on this forum.' from Freddo. I guess suggesting that someone's daddy put things inside of them when they were young is unacceptable, but telling people to get bent is perfectly fine.

I don't want my first post here (I have lurked for quite some time) to be some whiny crap about my suspension, so I'll also take this opportunity to ask a question: A while ago someone posted a picture of a naked Morrigan bending over and spreading her flaps; anyone got a link to the thread that contained said image?

Odd. An Oblivion fan repeatedly claimed that my parents had abused me as a child, and he wasn't punished.

Back when I was in college, all those years ago, watching boobah stoned was one of the most mind bending experiences I've ever survived.

Your account has been temporarily suspended. This suspension is due to end on Mar 7 2032, 08:35 AM.

Well, I was kind of expecting to get my first warning these days, but definitely not this.

What is the attraction of trolling for suspensions at ESF and then posting about it here? Surely this behavior isn't helping the Codex's reputation among ESF mods and admins.

Who the fuck 'trolled' for a suspension? I sure as hell didn't! No warning, no nothing -- Boom: account banned because I guess I hurt the Toddler's feelings with all the hurtful and inconvenient truths I mentioned about his wickle game. So he blubs like a girl to Sneaky Pete who gets one of his untermench to flip the switch on my account. Either that, or one of the aforementioned untermenchen thought they'd earn extra brownie-points by getting rid of a very disruptive influence before the Toddler started blubbing.

Either way, I count myself mighty blessed to be free of that cesspit of the deeply retarded graphix-whores that pass for ESF fans nowadays.

what's all about?

At my age, events start to blend together. I guess it all started when RPGCodex became increasingly more critical of Oblivion... and considering they announced that dialogue would be handled by a mini-game, why shouldn't we have been critical? This is right around the time Chefe did his Oblivion comic and put hentai links in the same thread. Suddenly, MSFD and Kathode stopped posting here. Furthermore, it became TESF policy to not allow links to the Codex. Theres been on and off disagreements like all links to VD's oblivion review being deleted.

More recently, a certain undeniably fun thread was made at the Codex at the expense of Bethseda, Oblivion, and Todd... http://www.rpgcodex.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=15071 . In an attempt to share the fun, Sovy hosted all the clean images from this thread (so no links to the Codex or profanity) and I posted the link on TESF. This link was closed because it "contained politics", namely a Hammer and Sickle and a Swatsika. Sovy recleaned up the posts removing the "political symbols" and I reposted it. This one lasted a couple pages with some people thinking they were funny and others claiming "Oblivion hating" was a lame hoby for lame people. At least one of the modderators (Summer) commented in the thread with out closing it.

Then, the thread vanished... deleted if you will. I inquired with a moderator why the thread was deleted and was told that ALL refrences to RPGCodex would be deleted. Furthermore, it soon became apparent that they used their dirty word filter to change RPGCodex and RPG Codex to I love oblivion and I really love oblivion. And thats where it now stands. VD has made some public forum posts protesting this policy, but they've just been deleted. Also, some long time members have recently been banned for what may or may not have been the offense of affiliation with RPGCodex.

Hope that covers everything.

I dunno. I've been criticizing Oblivion, flaming, making fun of fanboys, making fun of Todd, criticizing Beth, criticizing Mods since the release of Oblivion...and I'm still there, unbanned, unsuspended, unwarned and fuck, probably unnoticed because I can't explain it otherwise. Perhaps it's because my activities there aren't consistent. Or I have to post more. Any ways, recently I tried really hard to get banned and those fuck-ups of mods just ignored me. Terrible, reallly really terrible...

The history of the ESF and the Codex

I am kind of tempted to fire off an e-mail to some PC Gaming or Electronic magazines about this whole fiasco but on the other hand I am getting sick of Oblivion and the ESF shinanigans. :|

Oh well.

Strangely, the suspension of my membership is gone now. They tried to suspense another account and realized their mistake, perhaps?

Nope -- not even vaguely. I simply call things as I see them. I can think of no reason that my account should be banned other than vindictivness on the part of the admins or mods over at the ESF. Because, other than refuting the "wow Obvion sure rocks because the graphics are kewl"-crowd by pointing out the (many) short-comings of the Toddler's latest step towards the destruction of the RPG genre, I did nothing that could be even vaguely construed as being contra to the TOS I agreed to when I joined.

The only reason for my banning must have been my membership here -- I certainly made no bones about being a member of the Codex, even using the same handle here and there.

As I said earlier, the ESF has become a sink-hole of retardedness -- you only have to look at the majority of threads in the Oblivion forum to form that opinion. Add to that the vituperative nature of the pro-Oblivion zealots who simply refuse to even consider that there might be faults with their precious, precious game and the latest trend by the mods over there to stamp out even the most milquetoast of criticisms; their heavy-handed and obvious anti-Codex bias; and the latest smart fucking trick of auto-censoring the Codex as though it was a naughty word and I consider myself well out of it.

As far as I'm concerned, this latest anti-opinionism on behalf of Bethesda only confirms what I suspected way back when the announcement about the removal of weapons and skills was first mooted by Todd Howard -- that Bethesda don't give a fuck about their fans, old or new, any more. I no longer give a shit about the ES games -- they had a good run but, like all things, entropy and crass commercialism have pretty much ripped the guts out of the series.

My only concern now is that it is the same band of fuckwits who gutted ES that are in charge of FO3...

The drama on Bethesda's offical Fallout 3 forums will to make all this Oblivion discussion look like a love fest.

That is, assuming they dare to make a Fallout 3 forum.
