In case you didn't already have enough reason to wait 5 years to play this.

RTX 2060 for a Medium raytracing config at 1080p or a 3070 for Ultra at 1440p? I've got my 2070 plugged into an old 1680x1050 screen still, so my inner graphics whore is getting hopeful again. Also, CPU seems to be less of a hog than in early impressions.
Don't get too cuckuy cocky, Medium RT probably means Contact Shadows OR Reflections only. I.E. ray tracing of coherent rays which are easier to bundle for easier calculations. Global Illumination (Sky lighting, color bleeding, et cetera) is still out of the question. And RTX 2070 is only 10-15% better than 2060.
It's the 3070's 1440p/Ultra that I'm eyeballing. I know there's a massive gap to the new 3070, but I'm hoping that extra bit of grunt the 2070 has over the 2060 coupled with my lower screen resolution might just cut it. As long as the framerate stays in the 40-50 range, I'm cool.

32GB not utilized... isn't this supposed to be an envelope-pushing PC game? What a failure.
I don't want to break it to you, but you just threw your money out of the window with buying 32GB. Why would you need that for anything?
I have 500 pages open in Chrome and I have problems with playing games. SHUTTING DOWN CHROME IS INCONVENIENT.

Could try Dynamic Resolution to keep stable 60. On such old monitor, framerate hovering gives far jaggier picture unpleasant to look at than the newer ones with Freesync. DLSS is still artifact-heavy.

Why are there level-gated items?

Are you fucking kidding? This game has level gated items?
Haven't you ever looked at a pistol and thought "I'm definitely not skilled enough to pull that trigger"?
Yeah, but you still could. Even if the consequences are bad.
That's the joke. Aiming can be varying degrees of difficult but anyone can shoot any gun. The only gun I've ever used is RK-62 assault rifle, but if I had to defend myself I would pick up a handgun, point towards the threat and shoot. No matter my inexperience.

You need a doctor, not more RAM. :D
RAM only helps with gaming up to a certain point as far as I know? Most of the RAM used by games is in the video card (the vRAM). 32 GB of RAM is pointless.

Four sticks of 8gb RAM or two 16gb 2-rank with tuned timings can give another 10% of performance in games on AMD Ryzen. (nothing on Intel post-Skylake) It's not the capacity that helps.

Actually it's kinda funny. You think you are definitely skilled to handle that pistol, until you find you shot a policeman into his butt. Then you see his weird ideas of believing you know what's "safety on the pistol" means, in which direction it should point when you don't want shoot, and his shouting you shouldn't touch trigger when you are pointing pistol on people.
And then you hear, you should hold pistol tight even without touching trigger, it shot when fell on floor, and how lucky are everyone it didn't hit anyone.

And they you hear also people who are screaming you shouldn't point pistol on anyone, but these are totally deranged.

Citation needed? Where the fuck have you been Lacrymas. It's old news that Ryzen 5000 benefits significantly from dual rank RAM setup
Dual rank yes, but not 2x16GBs? Last time I checked, the difference between 2x8 and 2x16 was minimal for gaming. Unless I'm thinking dual rank means something else?

Does it also have scaling loot and/or scaling enemies?
Probably? This isn't surprising.

the more ram the better, everything keeps using more and more ram everyday, fuck all who say "you don't need that much ram" comments. min 12, maybe 16 gig ram's needed in a win10 system to not be a bottleneck here and there and that's only for today

fucking win10 alone was using half as much ram a few years ago than it's using today

Because you can always add more RAM in the future when the prices are lower and you actually need it?

:deathclaw:

All of the regular 16gb DDR4 sticks are dual rank while 90% of the 8gb sticks are single rank...

If so, I'm looking forward to the mods that overhaul the progression. Based on what we've seen it looks like there's far more potential for modders to do something interesting with it than Witcher 3 had.

Windows 10 is a bloated piece of shit and I hate it. Year of the Linux desktop fucking when. That being said, memory usage is already a non-issue for anyone with a decent system now and with DDR5's 32/64GB DIMMs on the horizon, it's going to be even less of an issue.

Merida, again
Dual Rank has to do with the RAMs density and individual stick configuration. 16GB and above tend to be dual rank sticks, while 8gb and smaller are usually single rank.

What do you mean lower? Nowadays prices are lower. Because RAM cartel stopped gauging prices. In one two years they'd switch to DDR5 and then... It's a new type of RAM, we can't manufacture it for cheap. All manufacturers are selling it at high prices. Yea we know it's 3x higher per GB, but you know inflation... They can go around for 2 years like that, before they decide it's actually better for them to sell RAM. Or someone backstabs them, or someone starts suing them, has money, enough proof about robbing the market by artificially created prices and monopoly, and is serious with getting them to lose theirs companies for that.

So far RAM cartels largely managed to evade punishment.

We'll see, so far I've always prioritised native resolution over jaggies but I'm out of touch with some of these newer rendering gimmicks. I just hope they supply a built-in FPS counter, I didn't have something DX12-compatible on hand for Mankind Divided.
