At first I thought that fourty-five minutes for a decade long retrospective on something was a reasonable length.

But then I realized it was not fourty-five minutes. It was four hours and fifty-seven minutes long. Fucking hell.

Every single one of them has it. Especially the reprints with. Keep away from the modules that was reprinted, especially Curse of Strahd.

I personally think that all of the official modules for 5e sucks hard, But the least shitty ones are from best to worst in order: Curse of Strahd (original print), Tomb of Anihilation, and Mines of Phandelver (the first one not the hardcover campaign shit).

The first two at least tried to do a hexcrawl. If you really like dungeoncrawlers, you can try your luck with the Tales from the Yawning Portal (remaster of some classics, but missing a lot of the content surrounding de dungeon and with stupid conversion decisions) and Dungeon of the Mad Mage (shit dungeoncrawl, but nonetheless). That's being said, 5e was not made to play good modules, it was made to play super hero combat nonsense and BG3 like story heavy bullshit. It sucks to dungeoncrawl in it, it has no good wilderness exploration rules (and what it has, it's hidden in extra supplements, not in the main books.)

Can't believe such a limited and faulty ruleset, sustained by bland reboots, could last over a decade and still keep going.

Are they really making money?
Global pandemic. Buying products in the hopes of being a part of Critical Roll vicariously.

But we have tiktok now so it will decline until AI GMs give it a boost.

It can't be overemphasized just how lucky WotC got with Stranger Things and Critical Roll coming around and getting popular when they did, making D&D "cool".

Out of the Abyss is fucking amazing. You start pretty low level and by the end you are mixing it up with demon princes and outer planes "famous" beings. Also takes place in the Underdark right out of the gate. I didn't finish it but got about 1/2 way through and it was some of the most fun I've had in D&D. It also came out long before the woke BS took hold.

I bought Rime of the Frostmaiden - enjoy the read, not sure how with playing it - i feel there is too many thread for GM to be aware of. Would really like someone to make Icewind Dale 3 base on it.

Its prosaic and develops slowly to be more epic, and events in the book are sensible, moreover they interwind with each other. Lots of winter flavours. Wilderness rules. The adventure is structure such as character travel from one place to another, even the start could be from one of ten locations.

Close to none wokeness - there are pictures of some black characters, funny enough not once the color of negros skin is mention in the text.
Women are equal in society and there is race mixing (like dragonborn is a leader of one of the starting towns), but that's an expected for rpgs level of inaccuracy.

Funny enough for some diversity, authors introduce new race of Goliaths - snow people, so PC can explore some cultures.

Only thing i regret about this book is that i bought alt cover, instead of the normal one.

Thank you.I don't mind story heavy adventures although dnd wasn't really made with that kind of adventures in mind.
