Dirty Harry gnome meh
Rashemen boyarin in shapka monomaha and witch?
Orcs on little legs with warhammer mouths meh
Gnoll is pretty cool, although I'm wondering (not only that, but that one is most curious): is there some sort of tradition when little gnoll furry daughters make hair into braids for their fathers for luck when they go for war? Cause with his fingers, I'd like to see him do that. Or maube it's her and it's part of gnoll fashion? :pete:

Could be worse, I guess. Could be a lot better too.

Ok, this one is good I have to admit. The other 3 in the last batch aren't too shabby either.

The halflings ones still make my stomach churn.

I think that's a Redcap.

Since gnolls are humanoid hyenas, there's a much more important question one should ask about their females.

All in all, decent pics, though I don't care much for how the orcs look.

Is it too expensive to hire people to make high quality realistic fantasy paintings nowadays?

Or did they just voluntarily downgrade the quality of the art?

Maybe it has something to with different expectations due to anime and video games?

I've been very disappointed with the art from 3rd edition onward.

Skilled fantasy artists are expensive. Why pay for a Brom or John Howe when you can pay some DeviantArt hack peanuts?

Speaking of artists though, I wish they'd just go ahead and hire Jason Engle full time.

Can't agree with you bro. Some of this stuff looks very amateurish. o_O

There's a lot of effort, sure, but also naive lighting, lacking composition and bland faces.

Edit: Oh wait, that was good old codexian sarcasm.
Edit2: Right?
Edit3: Of course it was.
Edit4: :?

I have a friend that complained over that, saying it the former looks like something that would kill you. The latter just looked derpy.

Meh, for something that has animal intelligence i think it was more fitting.
