Can someone help me transfer some items though different characters?
Why would you do that?
So you can be a level 10 with end game gear.

So I fired up Dark Souls 2 to do some fresh comparisons with DaS3 and the first thing I noticed was...MAN netcode improved a lot in DaS3, holy crap! I completely forgot about phantom ranges and getting teleport-backstabbed in DaS2.

Mechanically speaking I still find DaS2 to be superior, but one can't ignore that DaS3 brought a ton of improvements.

Still, nothing beats the JOY of low level PvP in Belfry Luna. Belbros4lyfe!

Did they ever change how poise works in this game? Has gameplay changed in any significant way?

DON'T YOU FUCKING MENTION LONG WAR (has a spergfest seizure). Seriously this mod, awesome as it was, gave me an aneurysm. It's probably because I played it in the higher than recommended difficulty (or because I'm a fucktard). Never managed to beat the Long War campaign. But I gotta say it was XCOM in all its gory...err...glory.

I'll see you gals in the XCOM2 thread, with the usual bitching and first world problems! yay!

You could not sound more like a faggot if you tried, which I'm betting you did.

Thanks, I'm trying hard to inject that extra bit of faggotry to my posts, hopefully it will come off naturally in some time.

Right. Maybe we were playing a different game.

And I don't care about her whirlwind, because it's easy to evade even with a fattie character, but I've tried blocking the attack which is a long combo with a shield that had 69 stability and with full stamina. I was completely slaughtered.

Either you never had to deal with that attack, or you used Giant's shield, or you're full of shit. "Using your brain" doesn't improve your stamina or the stability of your shield. I played against the Dancer dozens of times, so I have a fairly good idea of what you can or can't do in that fight and survive.

With the exception of a few attacks from a few enemies, shields were massively nerfed from the previous installments. Learn to dodge or it's rough going. The only attack from dancer you WANT to block over dodging is the straight stab she does. If you block it, SHE gets recoiled from the attack long enough for you to get a swipe or two in, depending on your weapon's speed.

I don't know about nerfing. There are bosses that are easier with a dodger, and there is a boss or two that are easier with a shield guy, is my impression. I'm not an expert though so I won't attempt to critique the game on these terms. I probably had too low a stamina and vigor for the Dancer. Could have beaten her with a shield dude otherwise I'm sure.

What they did nerf is armor, and I hadn't at all prepared for that, though maybe they compensated a little by making vitality give you more defense in comparison with the other stats.

Blocking attacks with shields consumes A LOT more stamina in this than the prior games, while dodging consumes a lot less stamina. Blocking also causes you to lose your footing more easily, even with greatshields.

The changes to armor since you can't level it up anymore, the deactivation of poise, removal of poise damage as a stat on weapons, critical damage as a stat, the uselessness of mixed damage, all point in the direction of them trying to make DS3 more like Bloodborne. Some would call it a casualization since there's a lot less stats to actually worry about, less customization, less actual character building. A lot of people will enjoy the changes because it "speeds up" the combat.

What do you mean the uselessness of mixed damage? If you mean infusing weapons then that has been something that is weak throughout the series and buffing has always been better.

Armor was weaker in souls 2 than souls 1

I don't know the mechanics regarding mitigation, but they calculated differently in 2 from 1 and 3. Because of this, infused weapons were awesome, an example being a Lightning Defender's Greatsword that was popular for the beloved Str / Fth Paladin builds, compounded with its L2 buff that boosted your damage further. Similarly for Dex-based Hexers, a Dark enchanted Roaring Halberd was one of the common weapons that sent them above and beyond in power.

As for armor, yes poise was weaker, but it still had functionality and kept 'Great' weapons useful in that it stacked with the natural hyper-armor their attacks provided. From a mitigation standpoint, armor was quite possibly better than Dark Souls 1. So much so, in fact, that the developers actually nerfed Havel's Set defense and poise in a relatively early patch. Take a look at PvP videos on Youtube where Havel monsters would trade with people and take 1/4 (or less) of the damage they dealt.

I read somewhere that poise is now about extending hyper armor, as well as making hyper armor, well, more hyper. So for those who don't know the terminology, it means that when you strike with your weapon, you get poise for a longer period of time during that strike as well as more of it so you can't be as easily interrupted. When you aren't striking anything, you have no poise. According to some guy who tested it, this seems to be how it is working now.

IMO, that seems like something that might be good for PvP, but it's a decline from the previous games for player versus enemy. I wish From stopped trying to balance multiplayer and just focused on single-player.

I will finally have time to play this, so a question to whoever of you already beat it. Is magic still shit or is it playable? I wanted to do a paladin again like I did in the second but I read somewhere that isnt very good anymore, did they fix that or is it still useless?

Or is there something else I "must" do or skill in case I get invaded?

Buffs are useless in this game.

Sorcerer is viable. Faith sucks. Pyro is great. Dark sorcery is meh needs buffs and hyperarmor on some spells.
