That's p. lame for a magazine feature. Not even one ork screen.

Also p. obvious necron as campaign big baddies.

It would tie back to the Eldar campaign in Retribution, where the Warlock realized that the prophecy referred to Necrons.

You know, crazy idea, but if Relic weren't working off name recognition they would have made the RTS with IG instead of SM, where SM would be a "summonable" unit or SM units being used for those hero-only missions (without basebuilding). Would actually make sense on many levels, but eh, who cares, better call another 10 squads of battle bruvas to hold off against 10 units of generic eldar units. Fuck this gay earth :negative:

I have to agree with Excidium. Relic created the Blood Ravens from scratch, which became popular enough to receive some official fluff. It's basically their baby and license to do what they want, perhaps even more so than with IG.

Besides, I want to see just how many relics the Blood Ravens can steal find through perfectly legitimate means over the series.

No, I understood the point of your post, I just do not agree with it. Having IG summon hero Space Marines would not work well in my mind for two reasons. First, the IG and SM are completely separate and independent of each other in the fluff and tabletop. Moreover, I would argue what makes IG distinct is that they do not have Space Marines on call. They are basically canon fodder with flash lights and tissue paper armor that win through tanks, artillery, and human wave tactics. A space marine in the mix changes that gameplay dynamic, and I think it would take away from IG. If Relic brought them together in gameplay, it would just take away from the uniqueness of both factions in my opinion.

Second, why would anyone want to work with the Blood Ravens in the campaign/story? To the rest of the universe the Blood Ravens are chaos tainted psykers,a band of thieves gentlemen artifact collectors, and team killing fucktards. Consider the long history of Kronus (killing IG) and Kaurava (killing IG), as well Kyrus and a large portion of the chapter trying to sacrifice the entire sector to chaos. Of all the factions willing to work with the Blood Ravens, I think IG would be last on that list. If anything, it makes the Blood Raven's situation more dire, because their numbers are depleted and they have no friends/allies to call on, because of Kyrus.

I know it's too early to tell, and we really shouldn't judge by those handful early screenshots, but I somehow cannot shake thefeeling, that the environments in the game will look nothing like it.

Relic has proven that they have absolutely no development talent left in the company with COH2.

Can you summarize what was so terrible about it? I only played the first couple missions; seemed alright to me, just more of the same.

You can criticise the company for its business strategy with all the shameless DLC peddling, but at the end of the day CoH2 is good shit.

Space marines losing is part of 40k's core identity.

they can experience battles against all odds (such as with the picture included), in which sense they are depicted as 'losing', this is not at all the same as one-sided losses

I've once again stopped playing, but now mostly due to the incessant crashes on Steam, however I will probably return again and would like to finally check how the overall population or level of activity is on the Elite mod. Although even with smaller numbers generally the games are better with improved game balance and design

I stopped playing roughly half a year ago. Tbh, DoW2 is not a very fun game in multi, the micromanagement hell just makes it frustrating. Also, while the elite mod does fix a few things, I'd say it also adds a whole lot of really stupid features, the primary of which is the idiotic GK faction. Also, it has a pretty big online activity, but you have to remember that 90% of the folks playing it are basement dwellers with 2k+ hours spent on dow2 (and I wish I was joking), who will mercilessly r00flestomp you time after time after time, further adding to the inherent dow2 frustration factor.

that's understandable, some of the 'good' players certainly have refined a number of operations all at once, which can make them very difficult, but I've also played for about two thousand hours (having played since early 2009), but ah I'm still better with other armies besides Eldar, which I now almost exclusively play -_-

Hello skyway.

I'm sure you needed all those 150 hours to conclude it is not a very fun game.

DoW2 mp doesn't hold a candle to the insanity and greatness that was DoW1 mp. If I wanted Company of Heroes, I'd play Company of Heroes.

it's a very different game and candle to DoW, both are great games in their own right, mid to late DoW II is not that different in terms numbers that can be found on the field, and there is in some respects more action and player involvement. DoW 1's atmosphere was better, and had more armies, exactly what DoW II should have continued to develop to make for a similar overall experience. For related reasons I'm more inclined to play Dow II than Company of Heroes because of the setting (and units, etc)

Stream going on YT right now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zcRCiK065T0

First thing I see is a bitch with blue hair so I'm out.
Watched most of it. Not worth a full watch for information alone. They said they had a new screenshot around the 30:23 mark, but I think it is just a zoomed in shot of a prior one.

new%20screenshot%20dow3.jpg

June 13 will show a video of a mission, which also will be streamed on June 24th.
