Man, from arcane terminators to I-Robot. Who wrote the new fluff?

Matt Ward. The author who brought us Draigo, the heart-carving warp hobo
Matt Ward? Suddenly it all makes sense...

Damn. All I knew about the necrons came from dawn of war, so I loved how they were this slow moving terminators just bulldosing everything in their path.
Shame that they got pussyfied then
To be fair, you can still have a Necron dynasty that acts like DoW1 Necrons,. The new fluff just makes it fair game in terms of how each dynasty acts. My concern is that GW and DoW III will push a more humanized Necron dynasty if added, instead of this badass:

I just checked the trailer and I'm hyped. The fact that the Space Marine die with a smile on his face and that everything is grimdark really hit in the feels. Too bad the trailer is anti-SM. Maybe because they're the white guys ?

You are trying even harder to prove you are not a retard, but the joindate says it all

Striking logic, retard.

Indeed, it was dumb, but also awesome.
Reinforcements are coming, let's all charge stupidly and die before they get there.
But I suppose he had to cap the requisition point to make the come, or whatever.

Eh, of course it had the manly badass factor, all DoW trailers are like that. Even the Mark of Chaos one was badass. DoW 3 one is a bit artsy, but the atmosphere in it is amazing. At least the Space Marine got ripped in half by a giant spinning wheel, not a chainsaw axe.

"In aid of this, some close detail has been sacrificed so Dawn of War 3 can shine in large-scale encounters, and Relic's artists have taken more inspiration from the colourful paint jobs of the tabletop game. It's a step away from the dark doom-laden tone of the fiction, and the game looks fantastic in motion."

I like how the only thing that can bump the GamerGate thread off the general gaming side bar is Dawn of War. Good job, gentlenerds.

Zdzisław Beksiński was the name i was looking for. I really hope we get to see this kind of artwork inside the game itself, and not just the trailer, but that's probably just wishful thinking.

Yeah, I got the impression that they were "inspired" by his works as well.

I know it's too early to tell, and we really shouldn't judge by those handful early screenshots, but I somehow cannot shake thefeeling, that the environments in the game will look nothing like it.

would that be the Elite mod by chance ?

it is one of the most evidently anti-Space Marine depictions in the sense they are losing on multiple sides, and there appears to be symbolism in some of the scenes, such as with the SM unit and the figure of the Emperor being swept away by the Green horde. I would also wonder about the chasm in which all the bodies are descending being more than figurative and perhaps alluding to an eventuality but we will see
