I like how the corpse suddenly decays as it turns into a 'morph, when they were supposed to be fresh bodies.

Is this thing real? Reminds me of the immersion shattering line from Alien 4 about Wallmart buying out Weyland-Yutani.

Codex Year of the Donut
wasn't dead space(dead space 2?) that one game with the weird marketing about how your parents would hate it?

So apparently this is good?

I seem to remember I liked the original DS and DS2 ok but there's too much in my pile of shame already to want to play a remake. Maybe I'll try it when it eventually hits Gamepass.

This is a game remade for todays more modern and progressive audience.

The games Lead Senior Experience Designer Christian Cimon says

In a first for this type of game, Dead Space includes a content warning feature to allow the player to be fully informed about potentially sensitive content—and even an option to hide that content if the player chooses. “The first option will warn you of a potentially disturbing scene ahead of time,” Christian says, “by displaying a non-intrusive popup that gives a brief description of the type of event that’s waiting around the corner, or in an audio or video log before you play it. The other option will actually hide the upcoming scene behind a screen effect. You’ll still hear any audio, but a blurring effect will hide the visuals until the scene has played out.”

If someone cares about this:

If you have the trilogy, keep it. I doubt we'll find the original games again if this remake trend goes full speed ahead.

Might as well just slap a permanent bandicam tier watermark on the screen that says "BEWARE, YOU'RE IN FOR A SCARE!!" considering the entire game is practically a "potentially disturbing scene".

Hiding the game you bought for 60 bucks so you don't have to look at it. Truly a modern feature for the modern blessed age.

How do you even manage to fuck a up such a small thing as video messages? The old nigga (Peter Mensah i think the actors name) had more personality, video distortion added to the atmosphere and overall looked better imo. The replacement nigger looks like a potato. and they just had to put cringy, unfunny joke there.

I don't know... i guess prosperized remake with muh graphics and more niggers is enough for a 11\10 game these days.

The old one still looks good to me, plays too. I'll stick to it.

The curse of modeling the NPCs as how the voice actors look strikes again.

I like how in the remaster the ship was apparently built to look hostile with its gothic and alien -esque walls. No alien infection is needed here to scare the shit out of you. Imagine working under those conditions.

One thing I really like about this version is the game automatically loads your last save when you boot it up, so when you get to the menu and click continue you're right in the game.

"This game is great, it has a basic feature that games had since 2015!"

:hahyou:
I'm assuming he means it actually loads in the level (keeping the game paused) while presenting the main menu screen, then when you press continue it's basically the same as unpausing the game, versus a main menu that doesn't actually have anything loaded yet and there's a bit of a delay when you click continue.

It's not some great feat of technology, but it's extremely rare for games to do that. I think the newer Paradox games might do it (they certainly preload a lot of stuff), but I can't recall for sure.
