Also i think itemisation is the best in all of the d-games. I always constantly find new better loot from regular monsters, and it has decent amount of different attributes on items. I hate in D2, when there is always something wrong in the item so you have to throw it away...wrong attributes...wrong amount of sockets...etc.
i believe this has to do with the simplicity of the item modifiers (affixes) - they're easy to understand, they all have a use, and the values they give are usually kept low. i think D2's itemization is fine, but it introduces item modifiers that might be completely useless to your class or playstyle, so some items aren't worth using. got something with +knockback? into the trash it goes. +Skills for an other character? no use to you. class specific item? won't even pick it up.

future games fumble this even more with items that give you +1000 damage and having too many modifiers that only benefit certain classes/playstyles - not to mention how awful i feel seeing the small inventory icons in D4. why bother having an artist draw a nice icon if it'll only be an inch on a player's screen?

it's also a bit annoying to have multiple items equipped that each have a paragraph of modifiers, but i think that comes down to personal taste.

I still think this is the best diablo to date. Also i think itemisation is the best in all of the d-games. I hate in D2, when there is always something wrong in the item so you have to throw it away...wrong attributes...wrong amount of sockets...etc. Also if you wanted to get good loot, you had to grind Baal, over and over again(or cow world)..and it is so stupid.
The problem is when the loot is good for another class than the one you're playing. Used to drive me nuts back in the days, but now I play with PlugY and shared stash.

Diablo 1 is still fantastic. I only played Rogue and somehow having no actual skills and only plinking away with a bow kept me enthralled for years.
Eaglehorn was my bow of choice and I never knew why, I just liked the art and the name mostly.

Modern DevX has integrated single player stash that works across characters.

But that's for D1, isn't it? I never had a problem with class restricted items in D1.

I think my favorite build for D1 (and I forget what mod it was but it had the hellfire Barbarians with 0 int) was creating a Barbarian shaman and trying to find items that added int so I could use items and spells and scrolls. God he got his ass kicked a lot. Was it int or Magic? I kind of forgot the stats now: str, dex, int? Was there con? I think i used bow a bit but str & con I was forbidden to raise until others were maxed or I just never used the points. I can't recall tbh.

Shared stash mods were nice as the Hellfire version of that world stone or w/e it was kind of sucked. I mean, it did work but was a damn pain.

That's one nice thing about Diablo 2 Resurrected, shared stash and cross platform play. So, two nice things, I guess.

Rogue was my favorite class in Diablo as well. It wasn't so much the plinking with the bow, which is nice, but also the fact they're decent at magic. I've played with people who play Warrior, and those people have my respect. The deeper I get in Diablo's dungeon, the more I want to keep the monsters as far away as possible.

Too bad it doesn't (AFAIK) work if you choose to play any of the pre LoD versions. Would have been nice to try the classic game with no Runewords and overall fewer drops.

You know, with a bit of imagination this is what it felt like when I came back from Georgia to find my parents possessed by rat spirits. It is still that creepy.

And soon... they'll unleash all sorts of hell on the property.

Man, did I get yelled at yesterday. I just ignored them and walked down into the deep field to the tree as they continued to scream at me.

And you know what? I see more rats than this epilogue every day now and they're growing.

Rogue was fun. High dex gave high to-hit so you could use civerb's cudgel to do +300% damage to knights in hell. Then chain lightning the dogs who aren't demons.

Even with a warrior with some good 'reading glasses' you could read books then hunt shrines to raise skill levels of spells. Teleport and Stone curse and a good 'of vampires' weapon for the win.
