Because yes, the original Diablo 2 had it, not so much in the black Paladin but in that more than half of masculine roles for NPCs are fulfilled by women. The rogues in the first act with the female blacksmith, the Paladin blacksmith in the second act, the mercenary and mage hunter whatever the fuck in the third act. Wombyn warrior, strong wombyn, proud wombyn. They plastered that shit everywhere
I'm not the one to sperg about "over-representation of women", but women-blacksmith bullshit triggers me just fine. Blacksmith is the profession that requires good amounts of physical strength and endurance; female blacksmiths make absolutely no sense and it's the clear sign of them being created by some wussy who hasn't lifted anything heavier than the computer mouse in his life. And to make things worse, this is not only Diablo - Tyranny has female blacksmiths as well, and most likely even more games.

:nocountryforshitposters:
The game does not take place on Earth. You are complaining about a female blacksmith when in this game your characters can decimate hordes of enemies, titanic demons, can teleport all day long, shoot fire/lightning/frost projectiles from their hands and are able to accomplish many more inhumane feats.
Hell why not complain about Whirlwind Barbs? Anyone who has followed or practiced a little HEMA can telll you that you cannot strike multiple people at once. Your weapon gets blocked by the first object it hits and this is just one of the problems with that skill. Man WW barbs suck so hard because they are totally unrealistic.
Or screaming opponents to death. Ever seen someone scream another to death? Man so unrealistic.

But you know what is even worse? Female blacksmiths actually existed:

10 seconds google search. Do you feel like a dumbfuck yet?

She is the blacksmith in what is basically a nun cloister where there are no men. And from a tribe of barbarians. The town she is servicing in Act I is where they were displaced to. Game was 20 years ago so it had to make some sense.

Sure sure. Also, the blacksmith in Luth Golein, also a wombyn, ex-paladin no less.

So the first act it's all women (lmao), with strong warrior wombyn mercenary who thinks the head of her order isn't fit to lead rogues in "battle" (muh hardened military wombyn). Third act we get battled scarred mercenary wombyn-mage. Watch out, she is super tough and not to be trifled with (we are told that several times from the gossips).

Fifth act we get wombyn mage who is like so amazing and special please save her yadda yadda ad nauseum. Fifth act also has anti-nationalist ideas (the barbarians lost to Baal because they were too closed as a culture and didn't know how to collaborate with neighboring cultures). The mercenary dude led to the massacre of his own people because he put too much faith in muh stronk warrior way and didn't listen to the smart blacksmith and his "crazy" ideas about pipe bombs and some other shit.

I mean none of this should be shocking as leftardism was everywhere in the 90s but i'm just pointing this stuff out to people who are shocked at tranny Amazon and wondering how we could ever get there.

Well, it started with wombyn blacksmiths or battled scarred wombyns. Warcraft 3 was also full of woke shit.

Meanwhile, there wasn't a whole much of that in either Diablo 1 or Warcraft 2. This makes those older, more primitive games feel a bit more "mythical" because they stuck to true archetypes instead of progressive ones.

Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuulshiiiiiiiiiiit.

Stop justifying this shit. Wokeness was always retarded and ALWAYS deleterious. Muh Aliens and Terminator fuck that shit too. It was always stupid, false and deviated, and now you are paying the consequences of letting that stuff fly when it was in the early stages.

Enjoy your Arnold Schwarzenegger Amazon because it is not going to stop there either, just like it didn't stop with battle hardened women in the 90s.

Ah classic Codex, the peak gaming community where the best games require you to not play at all and be a damn data analyst.

It's not really a Codex issue. After Diablo 2, the genre (ARPG Diablo clones) shifted away from singleplayer and campaign co-op experiences and moved towards autistic theorycrafters and boss runs (i.e. the ancestor of modern lootbox gambling). These days, western Diablo clones almost share the same space as Fighting Games, chasing a continually shrinking audience of die-hard multiplayer fans, whilst in the east the genre is basically a template for every mobile/MMOARPG sweatshop game developer who wants to make a quick turnaround on the Apple Store or Google Play.

As I've stated multiple times: PvP always ruins a game, without exception.

The problem with fighting games has more to do with attempting to make the games more casual friendly which almost always comes at the cost of fucking over the diehard fans who will be playing for longer than two weeks. A lot of developers think the issue casuals have is they can't win against veterans, so they add in these dipshit comeback mechanics or idiotic ideas that lowers the skill ceiling in vain hope that they will get someone that might try their game. Most casuals only care about the roster and getting some good value when it comes to various modes of play. If somebody is looking into the mechanics of the game on a deeper level, chances are they are not the type that just wants to throw fireballs and hit a dragon punch by accident occasionally then call it a day when the new AAA release comes out next month.

And another big issue is fighting games are the one genre still stuck in some sort of 56k bronze age of internet connectivity. The online servers tend to be shit, you need rollback netcode to even hope to have an enjoyable time, and if you're not in a situation of being able to play wired to your router then you're going to be playing a different fighting game altogether. Even playing wired won't help you escape and even rollback netcode is merely an acceptable solution but not a solution you'd expect in 2021. Personally speaking though, online fighting games will never match that "being in the arcade" feeling. The very least they can do is make good servers that don't remind you of PS2-era online.

How can something you have the option not to engage in ever ruin anything.

Well, in the case of Diablo II, the drop rates are tuned for multiplayer and trading. So if you decide you only want to play D2 as a single-player experience (like I prefer to), then you are boned unless you can find a mod. Thankfully such mods exist, although that wasn't the case when D2 was released.

But you know what is even worse? Female blacksmiths actually existed:
https://workingtheflame.com/female-blacksmiths-in-history/
While the examples discussed above illustrate the existence of women in blacksmithing, it does not mean it was a common occurrence. Dorothy A. Mays, author of Women in Early America: Struggle, Survival, and Freedom in a New World, reminds us that “although it is true that there were extraordinary cases of female blacksmiths, newspaper editors, and other skilled professionals, such women were anomalies.”
Yeah, from "anomalies" to "seen in every second town"

Yeah, from "anomalies" to "seen in every second town"
well we only visit 3 towns and encampment led by a female warrior organization. I don't see a problem here.

Fuck you and get a grip on reality because your passivity in those seemingly "unimportant" (actually insanely important) matters is why we living in the current shit show.

As always, imbeciles reared in the age of individualism and materialism don't even know what they don't know:

It is really fascinating how you've traded away your entire civilization for twenty pieces of shallow and deluded tough guy rhetoric. Y'all are correct that our Save vs Ray of Utter Absurdity is embarrassingly low so I've got to hand it to y'all for sussing out our thermal exhaust port.

As for the poor widdle genital mutilators you feign concern about, they're not so much transsexual or even transhuman as transorganic.

We'll all be thinking about that soon enough. No time like the present to make a start.

Multiplayer was a new thing back then and Blizzard were among the pioneers of online gaming.
wot
Diablo released in 1997, not 1987. MUDs had been out for years, proto-MMORPGs like The Realm Online and Meridian 59 were already out.

One of the main reasons for the multiplayer game boom at this time period was NSFNET was dissolved. Their acceptable use policy essentially made it impossible to use the internet for commercial activities, it's the reason so many MUDs were attached to ISP subscriptions(e.g., Neverwinter Nights, Gemstone III, etc.,)
