One of the best bosses. No grand evil speech, says one concise sentence relevant to where you are at in the story as he immediately attacks you with no mercy.
The more I read and watch about this, the more I remember how I got disinterested in mid 00's.
Launching that update with Enigma and all the "high-end" runewords was a jump the shark moment for the game. Solo was always a challenge. My single player barb with self found Arreat, Stormshield, and Grandfather will always have greater value than some chump's high-end character decked out in perfect rolls. I remember playing with optimal party members for effectiveness, like a barb, a zealer and a werewolf with Heart of Wolverine and a summoner necro with skellies, CE and amplify damage. Or, say, a vengeance paladin with conviction, an elemental druid and a sorc. 1.09 was a completely different game. 1.10 made things interesting because synergies felt fresh, it allowed things like skeletons, holy shock or holy freeze be legit endgame choices, while things like Enigma and BOTD felt like high end, long term goals for less than 1% of players.
Nowadays the game has respec, every player and his stepmother has weapons with shittons of damage, anni and torch, cta on the second weapon slot, and people have half a dozen auras coming out of their asses thanks to runewords. Blizz just caved in to botters and dupers and implemented crazier and crazier runewords and content so the duped items would be used. What's the point? This is without even getting into all the post-launch bullshit Activision will feed people. Which they will.
If I ever feel a terrible urge to play DII there's always D2DX and other mods.

Runewords like Enigma really did break the diversity of meta builds. A lot of high-end Runewords had however insanely low drop rates attached to them and were intended for ultra end-game when players had nothing else to do. It was the botters flooding the market that turned these items into attainable and expected equipment for the majority of the playerbase.

It's pretty simple really, it's a remaster marketed as staying true to the original. They have even made posts where they revised the look of small details like how a topaz should look or a medium health potion. It's on that level. How then, do you change the assassin who looked Eastern European with blue eyes into a full-blown ching-chong? Why has the Amazon aged 30 years? Really don't understand your point here.

I'm sure that's the case for some, but it comes off as disingenuous when they have made several revisions on incredibly small details to ensure it keeps the essence of the original while simultaneously change the entire ethnicity of iconic classes.
