There's a reason why the game is an MMO and you see other people zipping by on their 20 dollar horse armour or 30 dollar cosmetic set
Funny though what they think makes them look special makes me think they're idiots...I guess I should be grateful for those suckers for subsidising game support for the rest of us.
Personally I think everyone who pays for this crap in any capacity is an idiot, but your mileage may vary

30$ for a cosmetic armor set... And the horse armor price is even more hilarious. Blizzard can't help themselves but try to milk this from day 1, they know they will break 10 million sales in less than a month.
PoE had such prices for years now and fools still gave them their money

I've never understood the mindset of anyone who pays for cosmetics. By their very nature games are transient things that will eventually be replaced by the next big thing so spending real money on something that will be irrelevant or even inaccessible a short time into the future and has no meaningful impact on gameplay doesn't seem like a good investment to me.

I played D1 and D2 on release and loved them (1 much more than 2). But that was a lifetime ago and nu Blizzard isn't remotely comparable.

D4 is games-as-a-service, whale-milking, rainbow-peddling goyslop. Not worth 2 seconds of my time.

In real life, majority of people compete for social status by getting stuff others don't have. It doesn't matter if the stuff is useful or useless, actually, useless is even better as it shows you have resources to throw away. In games there are economies to get to rare things, some do it by grinding or skill, but that's few people and rather than spend money, they grind. The more difficult to get the thing, the more valuable. What is an economy that allows the crowds to compete on status, that makes money for the company? Just pay for something rare, whatever that is. The more expensive, the better it does the job of gaining you status with the crowd. Buy to impress.

This isn't Diablo and it wasn't made by the Blizzard everyone remembers fondly.

googled the story, looks like they avoided any embarrassing dumbfuckery by not having anything interesting happen.

you don't even get to fight
inarius because lilith kills him while he monologues after the least exciting battle since I pulled my balls out of the hole in my shorts 5 minutes ago

The obvious and yet most interesting turn of events would have been to have those two working in concert. Much like WoW they took potentially interesting characters and do the least interesting things with them.

Why are people playing this again. I take it none of you played the server slam and just got dupped into buying this somehow?

Wait until you see what Path of Exile is doing. At least D4 has free transmog and the sets are nice. Path of Exile's is a paid consumable and your character will look like absolute shit without league challenge rewards and standard equipment.

I played it for about a minute. I didn't want to spoil much for myself and I was pissed off I couldn't make a super hot sorceress. But it's all good, I made her into a goth chick which acts as a sort of cheat code. If you take a mediocre chick that's a 5 or 6 and make her goth she can become a 7.

Diablo 4 failing sucks, because what this mean is that GGG's shitty speed meta zoom zoom currency farm 3rd party trading bloated shitfest of a game will once again have 0 competition and they won't be pushed to change and fix their game.

Luckily D4 is not failing so far. We will see in 2 months how many are still playing

Yeah it's a fair point about PoE. It is a 'free' game for casual play but if you get at all serious on it you have to drop cash on tabs and stuff.

Pfft. Diablo 3 got off to a much worse start and lasted for over a decade. This game will have WoW longevity.
It lasted so well it made PoE biggest aRPG on the market LOL and made people make fun of Diablo brand..
