There's a reason why the game is an MMO and you see other people zipping by on their 20 dollar horse armour or 30 dollar cosmetic set

Funny though what they think makes them look special makes me think they're idiots...I guess I should be grateful for those suckers for subsidising game support for the rest of us.

I only play vanilla. In my last playthrough I used DevilutionX, which has some convenience features like running in town (I believe this was a Hellfire functionality) and good scaling for modern displays. Mods don't interest me very much.

The obvious and yet most interesting turn of events would have been to have those two working in concert. Much like WoW they took potentially interesting characters and do the least interesting things with them.

Wait until you see what Path of Exile is doing. At least D4 has free transmog and the sets are nice. Path of Exile's is a paid consumable and your character will look like absolute shit without league challenge rewards and standard equipment.

I played it for about a minute. I didn't want to spoil much for myself and I was pissed off I couldn't make a super hot sorceress. But it's all good, I made her into a goth chick which acts as a sort of cheat code. If you take a mediocre chick that's a 5 or 6 and make her goth she can become a 7.

I've never understood the mindset of anyone who pays for cosmetics. By their very nature games are transient things that will eventually be replaced by the next big thing so spending real money on something that will be irrelevant or even inaccessible a short time into the future and has no meaningful impact on gameplay doesn't seem like a good investment to me.

Right now I'm playing The Hell 2 (recently got finished @ v1.25, dev is moving on to TH3).
It has really great features like a huge stash, loads of new items and item types, new systems like perks and traits, new quests etc.
If you complained about modern aRPGs being too casual, it might be just for you, because the difficulty is brutal. You will hit roadblocks all the time and have to grind them out.
I have a lvl 40 archer with decent gear and I'm abusing the systems as best as I can and I'm still getting oneshot in Hell.
For me it is fun despite being grindy and unforgiving, so it might be for you (be warned though). The quality of the new content on the other hand is excellent and it is abundant.
