Verdict: Shit game. Uninstalled after first level. Haven't played many new games but are they all a fucking railroad like this one?
Hey, i know exactly how you feel. I played Thief: The Dark Project the other day. The game is railroaded as hell. Uninstalled it after the first level. Linear popamole bullshitz. An annoying dude tells you to jump on crates, hit a guard dude with a sword, shoot arrows in the target - can it get more railroaded than that? Also, no isometric viewpoint and 2d graphics. What popamole bullshitz is that?

:retarded:

is how some dipshits have the stones to brag about their ADHD like that

Not wanting the same shit over and over is ADHD now? I guess people who can't work on assembly lines have ADHD too.
This is exactly what playing this SHIT GAME feels like: DO THAT, DO THAT, DO THAT. Always in your face, like it's a fucking job.

But when exactly would it have been OK to give up on the game? When does it stop being railroaded shit? Maybe right after the first level? Somehow I don't believe it following this review.
Fucking retarded moron.

Do people here like Unreal?
Is it enough to make it a "(dis)honourable RPG" here on the Dex? Maybe we should get to writing Unreal retrospective?

This is upsetting. I was hoping this game would have more Thief and less moose-urine. I do not know if I even want to try it... =(

Damn it Arkane, you could have been something special.

I will love you if make the background transparent. And maybe colour it.

And maybe turn the guy into a Codex troll.

You're a one-note one aren't you.
And with good reason. The anti-consumer Steam DRM is just as important to me as gameplay might be to you. Just because you have grown to find pleasure in that throbbing cock called Steam, it doesn't mean the rest of us have done the same.

Now, see, I understand being against Steam on principle - I personally wouldn't say I like it at all, but can't complain about any big veiny dongs that come my way as I have a reputation to uphold here - but if grumbling about Steam is as important as gameplay to you and you spend so much of your time being upset about it, I would suggest re-examining how you spend your free time. I'm not entirely sure your hobby is making you happy. I'm just imagining the pub conversations.

"Hey Jim, how'd the football go this week?"
"I did manly football-related things like kicked a ball around with other fine healthy sweaty large men. How is the videogame-appreciating going?"
"I spent a very long time thinking about how much being angry at Gabe Newell means to me :smug:"

Err...he didn't say grumbling about steam was as important to him as gameplay, he said the existence of DRM on the game is important to him. If you are opposed to DRM generally, or this DRM, particularly because of your principles (presumably open source/free software type principals), then that's a pretty reasonable reason not to purchase games from steam.

This is the best I could do.

Noooooo! Now you've fallen into his trap! First he gives you minor feedback and makes you do a rough edit on photoshop. Then he'll keep criticising you for each repeated edit you do, and then makes you learn an entirely different art style and use that to make an entirely new gif from scratch.

Get out and play some RPGs while you still can!

And then before you know it the figure in the gif is Jewish.

Because that's funny.

Or something.

Shit game is shit.

Good idea, kinda, but horrible execution.

Honestly, first there should not have been any bullet time. Second, spells/powers etc should be much more interesting, instead of boring shit.

Also, option to choose between magick/warrior-magick/steampunk. Not a mishmash of everything.

Dishonored is just boring to me. There is little reason to explore the levels. Money is plentifull, piero remedy and sokolov elixir too, bone charms are almost useless, runes are too common and easy to find. During the Lady Boyle mission, I already had all the useful upgrades to my powers and to my weapons. As money, potions, bone charms, ammunition and runes are too plentifull, there is little incentive to explore more.
Later in the game, I just gave up, used the heart to find the runes and ignored the rest of the levels to finish the game faster. The non-lethal ways to neutralize the targets are too easy to find, and very silly (Why record the confession of my crimes in audio, then place the audiograph in a safe that even the guy of the radio tower knows the password?). The powers are almost cheats (Decided to ignore them most of the time, but then the runes became even more useless).
In conclusion: the level design is good but all the rest of the game mechanics are broken.

Choices are stupid, unless you consider whether to kill someone with a crossbow, gun or your sword is awesome. There is no reason in the story to play stealth at all, unless you want to unlock some achievements, though you can still get ghost even when bodies are found. You are told to assassinate people and then they bitch at you when you do calling you evil. So apparently even if you kill in self defense, it makes you really evil but luckily you can't even hit children, which would make you a real prick.

This makes the ending especially stupid where the bad dude is holding a little girl over the edge of the building, you can just walk up do a massive windblast and it knocks the bad guy off but the little girl holds on fine, stupid story, dumb gameplay, stealth only makes sense if you are some stupid achievement lover, most powers are useless, so runes aren't needed and bone charms suck. I don't want to read about stupid action games on a RPG site.

Except the action part is bland and boring too.
