Would be a nice surprise if they announced an early release.

It would be a surprise and a terrible move because Summer Sale will still take 99% of the store page. New releases, highlighted and featured are hidden within a couple of clicks.

Purchased with extra copy. Got 5 Adventure cards for it, apparently? I dunno, but I've been pretty excited for this game since the Kickstarter.

Does anyone know if this has a deep thought-provoking story yet? Everyone I talk to just says it's a murder mystery, they never mention depth. I'm playing Geneforge right now and looking for something that's intellectually satisfying

I think the way they presented their story is a good choice : a notable's murder that turns to be something more. It starts slow, until you uncover more.

The various ways you can approach the investigation are also quite well done, but no, it's certainly not "intellectually challenging" or satisfying, if you're looking for something truly original : a greater evil threatens us and all that. From what beta as shown so far : standard fantasy fare with, hopefully, competent execution. The strength of the storytelling in this game is more that you really don't feel railroaded even though there are a lot of story bits to follow and uncover...

So I have pledged for a Collector's Edition, and I don't have a Steam Account.
What do you think, should I request a Non-Steam DVD? Considering that I'll get a GOG version anyway, I don't really care.

It's Larian, not exactly the foremost example of sophisticated writing, characters and plots. If you want something with a bit more depth, writing wise, i recommend you take a look at Age of Decadence.

You could as well recommend waiting next 5 years for it.

Nah, these sort of sites usually only do that when you give them ammo- ie: if you bother replying to SJWs and give them some words that they can twist into clickbaiting headlines.

But, I digress:
What's done is done. I can assure FuriousGamer87 that the game is already in fucking tip-top shape and is looking to be one of the best RPGs in years. If you let this sort of relatively inconsequential thing bother you, it's honestly your loss.
Rhianna Pratchett, someone they had/have a working relationship with, thought it was fucking stupid.

And it is. :smug:

Shouldn't she refine her writing skills before branching out into design?

Have they said anything about how many copies they need to sell to go even, or have they set any goal?

No, but while searching for it I found this: http://www.larian.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=500032

Massive butthurt inside. :kfc:

Given his recent debate on Steam about the lack of an AOD sale before it is released, that might be interesting reading to Vault Dweller .

Some entitled faggot will be butthurt no matter what you do. The gist of the complaints to VD were that "none of your existing buyers will mind if you have a sale before release" and included some memorable statements such as: "I am outta here giving my cash to those who want it and aren't stuck in some reality distortion field of how the world works." and "Please! don't bury this gem of a game you put heart and soul in, with arguable/bad commercial approach which will cause you to lose support and the chance of game-world renown.".

Some people care, some don't. Obviously, people who want to buy it on sale will say that it's perfectly fine (and it is fine) and that nobody will mind, but clearly it's not the case.

Nobody sane will mind. If you think a game deserves money so much that you are willing to pay for an unfinished version to support its development, only to get buttmad when the game gets more money later on, you are clearly a danger to yourself and everyone around you.

You assume many things; that people really understand Early Access, or that they buy EA games to support the developers... and worst of all, that people act rationally.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is. Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
Backed both this and Wasteland 2 on Kickstarter and I have to say this puts Wasteland 2 to shame. I have only played a little bit of both, but Original Sin has Wasteland 2 beat in almost every area so far.

I wonder what Larian's announcement in a few days will be. Hopefully, a new game.
