Its not FOR UW nations its mainly for land nations to get UW. It helps UW nations by making their mages better and sometimes troops amphibian but it also takes away a lot of their safety.

UW wasn't changed much, even their pretender choice is still piss poor.

Pelagia might like it if their sacred troops were amphibious, but I guess that would alter Pretender design(maybe). R'yleh might like their two main mages to be better. But whatever, the die is cast.

The (only!) Pelagia sacred unit is good, but really expensive (70 gold for a good cavalry unit, which is clubbed to death by an equal amount of resources of any unit). Even if it was amphibious, it would hardly justify the price tag.

Nah, I am content in winning this game because everyone pities me so much that nobody attacks me. Then I steamroll everything with some fishermen who carry nets. Everyone hates nets, so they will give up.
That plan is fool proof.

I've seen good Pelagia strat that could have won the game but I wont tell you what it is because no reason to do so.

It's awesome. Coral armour that I can use, cheap mages to research and to spam little things, and the poor retards are still bickering on land without realizing that my Evil Plan of Global Frogization is starting to pick up steam.

Seriously though, UW mod for some nations is a must. MA Atlantis CANNOT be played without it, and I fear for the sanity of our two players. Worst case, Pelagia destroys the squids and realizes he cannot do anything.
