What modes should we play?

EG vs Secret ESL finals are a pleasure to watch. Very fast-paced games with tons of rotation and stellar play all around. This is probably the best patch I've played in Dota.

What a shame that there's no audience at the event at all.

edit: straight outplay from Secret taking 3 games in a row. I agree with Merlini's comment that unless they get a straight up outdraft from PPD, EG can't win.

1 mil watching and shit ton of people attending? (alas camera was usually pointed at the empty part of the stadium for some reason) And yeah EG got outplayed AND outdrafted in all games but first one (where they got pretty much a perfect draft). Though EG didn't play badly, Secret are just on another level in the past few months. Compare dat Tusk from Zai to Universe's, it's not even close (though Universe is prob my favorite off-lane player). Very enjoyable event throughout, seeing Chinese getting beat down after boring ass TI is my guilty pleasure.

Got meeps from that new immortal chest, does anyone wants to trade it for any other (TA/Prophet aside)? And while we are at it, i'v got quite a few unopened bundles from that compendium chest thingy (doom, medusa, wr, rubick, skywrath) and an extra Magnus immortal, if you want to trade some of the new stuff, lemme know.

The International has begun.

First out are the Wild Card games tonight. Buncho' scrubs. CDEC will probably win.

I'm in Seattle with a ticket for Ti5. Hopefully I'll be able to get a 430 autograph

CDEC wins first game vs Vega, but didn't dominate as much as their hero picks would have suggested.

They're getting UD and SB for game 2 again... They will probably 2-0.

There are so many damn items in this game now. I haven't played since February and everything looks crazy to me.

new items in doto the guide:

solar crest: medallion + evasion on allies, miss chance on enemies. mandatory pickup on position 4 supports because it turns your carry into PA
crimson guard: vanguard but not shit, 10 sec shield on all allies in range that reduces all attack damage by -55.
glimmer cape: discount shadow blade without the damage but with massive magic resistance and castable on allies
silver edge: upgrade to shadow blade. does more damage and disables passives for 5 seconds. mandatory against bristleback
lotus orb: expensive item that reflects all targeted spells back to enemies. nobody knows what to do with it so its never bought seriously
octarine core: lowers CD of all spells. grants passive lifesteal for spell damage. mandatory lategame on most int casters
guardian greaves: mana boots + mek. does both at the same time. nice slot saving item for supports but not actually good enough to rush

It also purges any negative status affects on cast, but it's still just a luxury item for when you're rolling over people.

Edit: Also forgot that Octarine lowers CD on all items too, 9 sec blink CD, shorter necro cooldown, etc.

last game was pretty disappointing tbh

dirge got a crazy good start but then went urn instead of mek and didn't group, kept farming the lane. slardar took too long to get a blink, he should have had a 10 minute blink plus 10 minute arcane mek from dirge, and they could just 5 man roflstomp the other team. they had WW too, most broken support in the entire game right now.

slardar is a shit hero, but he can roll the midgame pretty easily if you get a good start like that.

Vega is a typical CIS tier 2 team, could and should have rolled that quali, but once they get to the 'top', people get complacent and lose their drive (paid Seattle vacation, weee...) They threw away first game, considering that they had a better late-game lineup and still managed to get early game advantage (vs undying, bara etc), instead of getting more farm and cruising to an easy 1-0 they started to dive, forced unnecessary fights and for some reason SF (who had solid 3-4k advantage, prior to feeding) was on a mission to die every fucking time instead of Ember. "Save your friend" syndrome in full force. Second game showed how good they can play. Which makes 3rd even harder to understand, Techies ban? Offlane Shaker? Lion? The fuck is this shit. Didn't watch their games against MVP.P, since i knew they'd manage to throw it somehow. What a waste of a quali spot.

On a side note, bo2 format is gonna b gud. Both for betting and for underdogs.

luls that cloud 9 game looked like league of legends or something with 141414144 HP heroes just running away from each other.

Yea, C9 picks made no sense. Undying? On C9? Please, we all know you wont push fast. Razor core? Seriously stop.

I really hope C9 looses every single match, they are far the worst team to watch(both in picks and performance).
And its a shame its so easy to guess who is going to be in the finals(secret and eg),really wish there was some surprises.

How can you play with someone like EE is beyond me. Dude's mental, sounds like Lumpy Space Princess and plays like shit most of the time (flat out refused to buy bkb for like 2 months with old roster and lost so many games for c9 because of that).
