Games were first, anime later. (Can you read Japanese?)

Second season of anime wasn't as nice as the fist. Thought first season was very nice.

Anybody here read " The Boys" ? Now that's a fucking cool comic series.

It's fucking horrible, actually. Go read Planetary.

And now, intermission because some people just don't know when to shut the fuck up.

The first volume was shit, second one had several lulz-worthy things, haven't read the third one. Overall, not really that special.

Level-scaling just kills this game, as much as it killed Oblivion. I worked my ass off to get to level 16 and everything I find has scaled accordingly. Level 15 bandits, level 14 darkspawn, level 16 hedge wizards.

Would it be fun if they didn't and even your fart could kill anything in the vicinity? Even with scaling, combat became so easy as I geared up the party, I practically killed the archdemon on my first try (on hard). Which was a huge letdown considering it's a boring, saliva roaring, mindless monster and only a challenging combat would have made it slightly interesting. It just killed the satisfaction in the end.

I hope the "bhaalspawn" story in DA2 will be more polished because this invasion failed to impress me. Never felt threatened by it, probably because there was no time limit, and the (not one but two!) destroyed areas became unreachable, so I never faced the destruction. And I could still stroll through the swarm and visit Flemeth's hut anytime. @_@

Apart from the main plot (and a few minor annoyances) the game was good though, a pleasant surprise after the horrible trailers.

For Volourn: (DA < better setting, plot and villains) BG2 ~ DA (pretty much everything else > BG2) :P

It's supposed to give you a feeling of accomplishment, coming far in the game and give a trouncing to that ogre that scared you in the beginning. I understand it, but I always found running though places full of lower level enemies to be mind numbing boring. I'm just "Okay, when will I find an actual battle?".

Authority was really good at the very beginning. I can't remember who the first writer was, but when he left it went downhill quite a bit.

Yes, that's the one. Though it is, like, much, much better than Twilight. The Vampires aren't, like, all sparklity sparkly, and later it becomes obvious it is not so much about Yuki's romantic life as it is about her past before Kaname found her, about Zero's and Kaname's own pasts, and about the Vampires' society with all their intriges and politics and stuff and thingies. And it also has a couple of very epic moments and stuff towards the end of the first story arc thingie.

It is very melodramatic and emo and romantic, and so cheesy i fear mouses will try to steal my discs, but it is nowhere near as vapid and gray and pedestrian as Twilight is.

There, have the Opening as a parting gift. :3

...why does it have a character called Zero? I think the only justification for that kind of dumbfuck trying-too-hard-to-be-cool name is Zero from the Rockman X series, but even then at least he's a robot. I took a look at the manga's artwork and I already knew I'd want to burn it. Let me guess: the protagonist is a vapid, brainless twit whom for some reason every pretty male within ten kilometers' radius are in love/lust with and will do everything to get into her pussy?

Pretty much 99% of all shoujo is garbage. Then again, the same goes for shounen.

All anime is equivalent of Twilight.

I don't think ANYTHING deserves to be given that harsh a judgement, except maby Kevin J Anderson's RAPE of the dune universe.

Actually, Patrick Weekes of Bioware fame admitted the writing in their games is on a level with romance novels. So there you have it: the writing in DA is not much better than, say, in Twilight.

Goddamnit, pretty much any remarks I can make about Western literary superiority are quite effectively pwned by the success of Twilight:-(. At least we can plead that Twilight wouldn't have succeeded 10 years ago (or is admitting decline worse). It was the 1-2 hit of the Harry Potter series coming first. 2/3 of the literate westerners became fans of fucking CHILDREN'S novels, and because there were 7 of them, that meant a full decade of literary infantilism, leaving us wide open for some shite like Twilight to fill the void.

What. No problems with final boss on Nightmare. He's pretty weak compared to fucking Ser Cauthrien (lawl) and Gaxkang.

The first writer was Warren Ellis.

Personally, I'd say it reached its peak in Godhead and Fractured Worlds storylines, which were during the Robbie Morrison tenure. Though Robbie's earlier storylines weren't as good.

In fact, much of the Authority doesn't seem to be distinctively better (only Ellis' run had consistent quality), but rather better storylines here and there, like Earth Inferno and such.

The author, Dan Brown, is a character from Foucault’s Pendulum! I invented him. He shares my characters’ fascinations—the world conspiracy of Rosicrucians, Masons, and Jesuits. The role of the Knights Templar. The hermetic secret. The principle that everything is connected. I suspect Dan Brown might not even exist.

I have legit copy silly you, the game didn't crash for the 100h I needed to get there and now I have to repeat the fight to see the ending. stupid archdemon.

Gaxkang was weaker imo and the chick I killed on first try too, she hits hard, but nothing that can't be repaired by a weak healing potion (with 60 magic or so that heals more than 100 dmg), it took me ~1h because I killed the endless stream of darkspawns first until they stopped spawning, also I made an effort to keep Arl Eamon, Kardol and the first enchanter healed and alive, the circle mages fireballed the shit out of my party btw very nice of them.

hi guise, can I has some questions?

Why does noone give a shit, that you're still alive after slaying the archdemon (did Morrigans ritual) and what happens if you don't do the ritual? And can you make Logain become a grey warden? Alistair wouldn't let me do it and executed Logain himself.

Presumably nobody but the Wardens know that you actually need to do the sacrifice thing, and the only ones there are Alistair and you. If you don't do Morrie's ritual, either you die, or you let Alistair do it and he dies.

And Loghain is made a Grey Warden by Riordan if you don't kill him, but Alistair will leave the group if you allow that to happen.
