The juxtaposition of this shit, this shit we used to hope could possibly be good which we no longer need to even piss on, against the huge masses of incline coming from each and every angle is going to make watching the release of this game one of the most entertaining things of our life times.

"Some people loved the slower-paced tactical feel of game A, other people loved the faster-paced action feel of game B. So for game C we're going for a game that's at the same time fast and slow, at the same time has an action and a tactical feel." I sometimes genuinely like these marketing types; they're like modern-day sophists, pissing straight in the face of the principle of non-contradiction.

From Life of Diogenes:

"Someone took him [Diogenes] into a magnificent house and warned him not to spit, whereupon, having cleared his throat, he spat into the man's face, being unable, he said, to find a meaner receptacle."

I'm not sure whether Diogenes is Bioware in this analogy, or Diogenes is what we should say to Bioware.

This game is just going to be a clusterfuck. It sounds like they have absolutely no clue what they're doing; they just heard that Skyrim sold millions of copies and gets "GAME OF THE FOREVER" across the board, so let's do that. Fast and action-packed but slow and tactical combat. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.

Considering all of the vastly superior games coming out in the next few years, this game doesn't even deserve attention here. 5 years ago, sure, a game like this would be like a hairy toothless tranny hooker that everyone closed their eyes and fucked because there was no alternative, but that's not even necessary anymore.

I get a massive wafting aroma of "we have no idea how to respond to the criticisms leveled at us, key people have been leaving the company, and we're just trying to tread water here" from Bioware over the past few years.

I'm an explorefag so I hope they make good on the better exploration thing. Of course the rest of the game has to be good too, which is a lot to ask.

I also see we're at the point already where's it's all about 'DEM AMAZIN' NEW CONSOLES!

Anyway, wake me in a year when we see gameplay.

Only hairy toothless ones ;)

Now that Codex is moving up in society he can afford to be critical and demand high class trannies :obviously:

After all he has many hookers vying for his affection now.

"Interviews" like these make me fucking rage. He has literally said nothing at all. Except randomly spewing marketing buzzwords. Yeah, they have nothing up their sleeve and they're clueless about what to do with this game. I believe this is going to be a 3rd person shooter.

Not unusal for marketing. I am only surprised it shows so much. Clearly EA could have sent someone more skilled in spewing buzzwordspeak.

These are characters that now feel alive

Oh, good to know that we're at the stage when mainstream media can finally acknowledge the shitty cheesiness of DA 1&2.

DA 1 was perfect. DA 3 will be perfect-er!

I personally like that Dragon Age II has a faster, more action feel to it.

The idea for 3 is obviously that the medium has moved ahead again.

This is just such a hilariously retarded thing to read.
This actually bothers me more than the whole "many people like black others prefer white. We'll put both together and satify everyone because everyone hates grey.".
BiowEAr doesn't even try to make anything original with soul. They simply try to follow where "the medium" is going. Whatever that is supposed to mean...

Simple. Action games sell better than tactical RPGs, let's make DA2 an action corridor shooter slasher game.
Oh, wait, a game named Skyrim sold ten million copies, quess everyone loves hiking simulators. Let's make DA3 an open world game.
In the fat chance PE sells 5 million copies, DA4 will be 2D isometric. How can anyone call these games a series is beyond me. They are completely diffirent to each other.

I wonder how much failure the melonhead overlords at EA central are willing to tolerate before Bioware gets axed altogether. Their games cannot be cheap to produce and historically haven't sold that well.
Mass Effect series sold more copies with each iteration, and since being acquired by EA their production times have decreased dramatically. It basically takes Bioware 2 years to make a game that sells 5 million copies. So I bet all of EABioware's games have been profitable. However, DA2 was clearly a disappointment on at least 2 levels.

The Mass Effects sold over 5 million? That would be news to me, my impression was that their total sales hovered slightly below 4.

Also, keep in mind that EA came out and said that Dead Space 3 needs to sell at least 5 million in order to justify a continuation of the franchise. With these kinds of targets, one wonders how long they'll let Bioware operate. ToR was already a huge flop, I think bad sales of DA3 or ME4 couid just sink them outright. Then there's also the continuing exodus of senior developers and other staff...

Companies don't report how many digital sales they make, so the 5 million is part guess work.

Edit: I did forget about ToRtanic though, which probably puts Bioware on shakier ground. I think they're still relatively safe even with another DA2 level failure (ie, not complete failure) because they're unique in EA. EA has plenty of devs that can make a 3rd person shooter, but only one that can make RPGs (such as they are).

After the (relative) straight talk received during and regarding the various Kickstarter campaigns, stuff like this hardly seems worthy of a second glance, much less a newspost.

Nah. It's newsworthy. If only to give us old farts a reason to bitch.
All this hippy incline lately is pure socialism (seriously, developing games that you yourself would like to play instead of following the medium. Ridiculous.) and takes all the fun out of it for us Glittering Stones Gems of Hatred.
We need these kinds of news posts to feed our misanthropy. Will nobody think of the children?!?

Either that or he's saying is that DA3 is the "soul" they've been searching for all along, and now that "the medium" has finally made "bigger, open areas and more things to do" possible, Bioware can come out of its closed-world coccoon as a wonderful open-world butterfly; because, had "the medium" allowed it, Baldur's Gate 2 would've been a Skyrim-like too.

I always think it's even more intersting because of the journalists doing the interview. Same as with political interviews, I'm never really sure whether the journalists are really so dense that they don't understand nothing is actually being said, or they just don't care and are happy enough to have the job they do.
