I don't wanna be friends with any of these characters. what really surprises me, is that none of the companions are in a wheelchair, which im sure someone on the design team suggested at some point.

I've come to the conclusion that trannies are really a problem and they need to be stopped. There's a reason that there are so many horror movies where the killer dresses up like a woman. We were warned...

This sound like she's talking about a protagonist or character of a Young adult novel, not a game about saving the world of Gods tearing the veil between spiritual and physical worlds..
Busche: “Oh, my dear, sweet Bellara. I relate to Bellara a lot. She is joyous. She's been through a lot, but she remains curious, optimistic. She's kind of a geek. She really likes her fiction. She fangirls over Neve a little bit. She's just so relatable, and I think that's what our players will find and fall in love with when they get to meet Bellara, is just how much you'll recognize some of those patterns and sensibilities that she holds, but don't let it fool you. She is also a Veil Jumper. She's very comfortable in elven ruins. I frequently bring her with me in my party. I like to play rogue. I like to play the Veil Jumper, or the Veil Ranger. Bellara's a fantastic companion to set up that spec with electric vulnerabilities, so I love her both on and off the battlefield.”

Kibellah is a masterful assassin whose talent and fanatical devotion to the Undying Emperor has earned her the title of the Second Spinner of the Bloodspun Web. Since childhood, she has dedicated herself to rigorous training of mind and body, perfecting the art of the blade dance and mollifying her emotions. Kibellah has no desires, only duty; no fear, only purpose. She is the perfect instrument of death, and this undying servant of the Undying Emperor has left the shadows to become the Rogue Trader's personal bodyguard.

Her specialised blades and ritualistic arts are at the Lord Captain's service, as is her sophisticated mind. She recognises the signs sent by the Emperor, even through the veil of mundane reality. Her world is a realm of riddles and blood that interweave and resolve into momentous insight. To that end, she bears the greatest relic of the cult: a sacred deck of the Emperor’s Tarot. The cards speak the will of the Undying One and reveal the names of those who must depart. Every new reading reveals ever more clearly that the greatest moment of her life is at hand. The Immortal Emperor holds an exceptional destiny in store for His servant, who is now ready to step into the future.

Davrin: Literally such a boring filler character so that they had to put in a sidekick bird that fills in for 50% of conversations.

"Nice bird you got there, Davrin. Tell me more about it."
[...]
"Nice meeting you, Davrin. Bye."

The rest of the cast are cliche as fuck.

Davrin will likely end up like Wyll from BG3 then. Largely ignored and just there with the most interesting element of his character being the - largely underused - Mizora.

None are going to be interesting. All of them are obviously characters from contemporary YA fantasy media because the writers don't know anything else.

Nobody cares about the game enough to read all that fucking shit about the characters anyways. If somewhere in that wall of text it’s revealed how fucking lame the NPCs are, I guess a positive for BioWare is nobody really cares enough to discover that outside of people that hate their games and people that jerk off to anything BioWare does.

Ofc they are. The least you can expect is disgusting deviance, followed by mentally unstable, insane, immoral, erratic, disorderly, all the way to outright dangerous. It's far from a joke.

Allowing them into seats of authority of any kind has proven to be catastrophic. Evidence of which is everywhere in the last decade, whether they were in charge of entertainment, media or something serious like law, politics or military

And it's not "some of them" compared to the rest of humanity, it's an alarming majority. Because everyone who came out or chose to be a tranny is quite literally an unhinged lunatic, there's no mystery here. And we should treat them as such.

It's bizzare to see them pushing the characters as the main feature.

You can't even see them on the field most of the time, because they are dramatically hitting a trash mob for 1hp in some corner. Press the combo button, milord, see me shine!

Now I remember what the combat in this game is reminding me of, Kingdoms of Amalur.

This game doesn’t even seem like it has combo strings. The combat system seems like they’re doing a third person version of console Diablo 3 where you can also issue commands to your units on the battlefield. This is also similar to what the console Final Fantasy 7 remakes are doing with their combat system, so maybe they’re going for that...although the combat system in those FF7R games seems more thought out, and you can switch between party members in those games, and you do have access to all your skills in that game during combat. Doesn’t look as good as console Diablo 3 either.

Given it doesn’t seem like you have a jump in this game, if BioWare was smart they would’ve just made this an isometric game and allowed for four player couch co-op as their hook. Like I can kind of get being afraid of going isometric pre Diablo 3, but when Diablo 3 alone has sold better than every game you’ve made combined it seems like there’s an audience.

I was getting similar vibes although more because of overly saturated colors at first. Veilguard doesn't have chakrams for weapons, though.

I stopped reading here:

“Taash, in the creation of their arc, is one of our more complex characters. It's a journey along their arc that is about introspection.
Nevermind I read a little bit more

Busche: Oh, my dear, sweet Bellara. I relate to Bellara a lot. She is joyous. She's been through a lot, but she remains curious, optimistic. She's kind of a geek. She really likes her fiction.
:nocountryforshitposters:

How many of you want to play with the trannie self insert?

So it's confirmed then that Taash is a tranny or at least queerosexual to check that all-important masterrace box. This certainly explains why she looks more masculine than all the placeholder qunari Rooks they've shown so far.

Corinne Busche said:

Emmrich

Faction: Mourn Watch
Voiced by: Nick Boraine
Previous Dragon Age appearances: The Flame Eternal (short story)
Busche: “The thing about Emmrich that is going to surprise our fans the most is his relationship with necromancy. I really love that we kind of turned the idea of a necromancer on its head here, where you think of them as these conjurers of evil, the certain malice when you hear the term 'necromancer,' but it couldn't be farther from the truth for Emmrich. There is a reverence about the dead. He has a unique relationship with death. You get to explore how he ended up in the Mourn Watch. Death has shaped this character in all aspects of his life, and we frequently refer to him as our gentleman necromancer. I think his proper, kind nature stems from that respect that he's learned about this cycle of life and death throughout his life.
"Death has shaped this character in all aspects of his life, and we frequently refer to him as our gentleman necromancer."

“Manfred is like a son to Emmrich. He very much has an affinity for this wisp, this life force that he's given a second chance through this skeletal body, and in many ways, it's the story of a parent raising a child. Emmrich, he needs to teach Manfred and help him along to develop as a character of their own, things like learning new skills, how to assist The Veilguard. Some of our most charming moments are in dealing with Manfred, and I must say I absolutely love the interactions. They just have me rolling whenever Manfred steals the show.
“…In my last playthrough, I romanced Emmrich. What I also loved is as I'm synergizing with him as we're doing combos, just having him refer to me as ‘my dear’ on the battlefield. ‘Well done, my dear!’ It just fills me with joy every time.”

Bioware Teases Full Nudity in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Promises “A Mature RPG” - IGN Daily Fix

^ This is the fucking pinnacle of cringe, the point where it turns tragic, sad and overall demented. Horny fantasies about doing combat combos with a suspiciously queer-looking old fart, and about him referring to you as "my dear". Being sexually affirmed through the way pixels on the screen refer to your cringy self-insert. "Oh my, we work so well together on the battlefield that my pants are wet now just for thinking about how we will work together in bed, squeeeee"

I have to go vomit. This is way past my level of tolerance, also because of that link about "full nudity" conveniently placed under that quote. They must surely know that this game will destroy Bioware, so I'm betting that they've decided to go all-in with this shit, and also because the current staff simply can't do any better.

You know, change some words around and this reads like one of those guys that falls in love with a gacha character.

BioWare finally does full nudity, but they’re doing it with characters nobody wants to see naked.

They still don't have the balls to show peckers though, like CD Projekt RED did. Wanna bet?

In a game like this it would be.... I don't know. I've run out of words to describe the horror. Seeing it would either make you die from laughing your ass off, or from mortification. Imagine that Taash's "steamy sex scene" referred to in the interview refers to a scene akin to the "reveal" in Crying Game.
