Low tier drama is ruining the Codex. We need a better level of drama.
Maybe the real drama was the friends that we made along the way

Yo MLMarkland I've only recently become aware of your existence and I need to get some of your lore straight for my .txt file, if you don't mind:
  1. Where did you get the money to invest in games. Are you a trustfund baby or something?
  2. Was your movie a self-funded vanity project? I've only seen the trailer, but it looks equal parts relatively expensive, yet also kind of awful, like the sort of thing one makes when they have lots of money, but no taste. Based on the trailers, it doesn't look as bad as The Room, but it seems like it's mining the same territory. Maybe we should arrange a Codex Movie Night to find out?

Is this the thread to request LinkedIn profile deletion?
It's been well over 10 years and I still get emails from LinkedIn.

Is this the codexian version of the navy seal copypasta?
Figured it was the litigious version of the Taken guy speech.

I don’t know who you are. I don’t know what you want. If you are looking for ransom I can tell you I don’t have money, but what I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career.
Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now that’ll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you, but if you don’t, I will look for you, I will find you and I will kill you.

1. MLMarkland attempted to make a new thread today containing some of his favorite movie trailers (and didn't even bother to embed them properly) but a thread for movie trailers already exists, in the Library
2. I moved MLMarkland's posts to that existing thread
and that's bullshit.

I assume historically codex was much more well known, but that no longer seems to be the case. A generational thing, or whatever you want to call it.
We mostly got well-known by giving bad reviews to popular CRPGs.

That ended once the RPGCodex Steam Curator became a thing. Now the Codex produces "neutral positive" puff pieces.

Frankly though, I'm glad we aren't getting a new influx of redditors for every AAA game that's released anymore. Some of them inevitably stay and drag the taste of the hivemind down another notch.

Saint P and Vault Dweller no longer write reviews. Codex simply publishes what people submit. If the grumps can't be bothered to write several thousand coherent words about a game they dislike, then their reviews just won't exist.

the codex's negative selection has led to the strong and nearly equivocal opinion that a game needs to be beaten seven times on the turbo fucker you're gonna die mode in order for the reviewer to write anything of value

conventional kkk is more or less relegated to word of mouth these days

So you're telling me that if I write a review shitting all over Starfield or Wrath of the Righteous it will get accepted and published? Unlikely.

Maybe I'd get a mention. Maybe it'd get posted on some corner of the site. Maybe. (Yeah right.)

But that Steam curator link (assuming it's still being updated) is gonna be neutral positive, since nothing on there has a negative review. :M

Yes, a curator that's intended solely for recommendations is going to link to positive reviews.
