That is a big nooope from me. I mean, if I had a perfect internet connection, and more faith in my abilities then maybe. Though I do believe once the league is over you can transfer any character that died to any server you want for free.
I did see three random guys at level one in the harbor, joking around and having fun yesterday. I asked them if they wanted to join the guild I got recruited in and they said no thanks, they were training for hardcore and wouldn't be on my server long. There probably will be a lot of people playing on that one server so you would probably have no trouble finding a group for every quest. I remember one guy saying Hardcore server was just like when the game was still fairly new, with the amount of people playing on the server. They really need to do a server merge, with the current player population the game doesn't need 8 servers, just two or three.

More servers - more free points for ddo shop. Btw hardcore is different server too? I'll try it for fun AND profit then.

Hmmmm. https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthre...s-full-build-repository?p=6134043#post6134043
Strimtom is a DDO streamer who does a lot of build guides. His latest builds are at the bottom of the post I linked. He did a bunch of build guides for hardcore season 1 and 2 including some warlocks I think.
My advice is don't do elite and reaper on Hardcore. Just do normal and hard and nothing higher. Cause Elite and Reaper were not designed with Hardcore in mind. If you want to do Elite for the Favor, just come back when you are 5 or 7 levels higher than the CR on Elite. Also, group up always. And traps are apparently the number one killer of people on Hardcore https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/515388-Hardcore-League-2-Death-Statistics

Also, you will notice the game world is down for it's weekly maintenance and they list the time as being 8:00am to 12:00pm. Most of the time it will be done in two or three hours. One time I think it was even up after one hour.

Fuck it. I'm going to do hardcore. I want the Free DDO points and to see how far I can go before dying.

https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthre...m-s-Hardcore-Ready-Character-builds-Season-2! I'm going to modify Strimtom's Barbarian hardcore build by taking 2 levels of rogue at the start, so I can detect and disable traps and get evasion feat. I'm going to be a human so I can take insightful reflexes at Level 1 as a human bonus feat, which lets me use intelligence for reflex saves. After that I'm basically going to just follow his build exactly.

I'm not going to do anything above Hard difficulty, but I will go back to do quests at elite when I am 6 or 10 levels higher so I can get the favor for more points and maybe even get one of those cool rewards https://www.ddo.com/en/hardcore

I've been playing DDO on and off since it went F2P.
I got Menace of the Underdark a while ago on a Steam sale. So I have access to druid (which I also like playing.)
Currently I'm farming the first 100 Favor per server. (Touching on the Guide Ghop was so kind to provide.)
Once I'm finished (or bored) with that, I plan to play a
1Rogue/1Fighter/18Druid
Rogue for traps and skill points, Fighter for access to matial weapons, heavy armor and free weapon feat.
Aim is:
Two Handed fighting in bear form, still be halfway tanky, be able to self-heal, self-buff and have some support from pet and summons. Since I'll probably never get to the late game, deficiencies there don't bother me too much.
Problem is, I don't really understand what I'd be sacrificing for the splashes of rogue and fighter :D
Sure, some high-lvl spell slots, and spell DC. Both not very relevant for the build (and late game). The high-lvl druid enhancements seem to be possile without 20 lvls in druid. Am I missing something? Will something be blocked in Epic lvls? Just looking to make an informed decision.
And the DC of traps and locks used to be so high, that a dedicated rogue was kinda required. Will a splash of rogue even be able to disarm/lockpick?
I saw a two handed druid guide that used only 12 in wis. Since I would like to cast high lvl spells, that seems very low... Given the probable equipment/enhancements/whatever: What would be the recomended minimum wis if I want to eventually cast Mass Regenerate and stuff?

I think the only thing you would miss out on is the sixth core in one of the enhancement trees https://ddowiki.com/page/Nature's_Protector_enhancements. Honestly, what you gain from splashing seems to more than make up for it. So I say go for it.

They have changed random loot quite a lot in this game due to the introduction of hardcore. With the latest update they all random loot waaay better. It's not unusual to get items boosting wisdom a significant amount from random loot, plus there are some named items that provide bonuses as well. You should be fine with only 12 in wis.

@S0rcererV1ct0r I found the config file called "UserPreferences" under the Dungeons and Dragons Online in the Documents folder. I hope this helps with the resolution.

Oops. Turns out my build idea for hardcore was crap. You can't search or perform many actions while raged. I mean yeah I can dismiss it but that is just a waste. Time to rebuild and go Dwarf barbarian pure. Will have to rely on others to deal with traps and my gobs of hp.

My rogue ded. Only few hundred exp left to lvl 5. Xaurip shaman casted fear and blind and they gangraped my girl in the darkness...
I was too relaxed, didn't even summoned hireling. What could possibly go wrong.

Well Kobold Shamans are the number three killer of everyone in Hardcore. At least according to this guy who apparently autistically kept track of every death in Hardcore Season 2. I've only got my hardcore character up to level 3 but I've seen a bunch of notices that of people dying in that range. Hell, I'll probably die around Level 5 since Kobald Shamans on Elite are tiny death lords with lighting bolts.
I'm honestly impressed you lasted that long. I grouped with a guy who was clearly new to the game, he played a Sorcerer like a Fighter just swinging his quarterstaff and not seeming to realize he could cast spells at first. And once he did, he didn't keep casting. Still kept on going right up to the enemies swinging his staff. I healed him but he ended up getting one shot by a trap. Would have taught the poor guy if we weren't in a group of veterans zerg rushing the level 1 quests on elite.
