This dungeon surprised me, like a lot of other tombs/caves/mines.
I never understood the hate for copypasted dungeons. Yes, some of them are pretty short/simple and devoid of any gimmick, but these dungeons are just like goblins. If you want a good and diverse adventure, you gotta have your goblins, mixed with occasional beholders and pit fiends. And that one particular dungeon easily is a tarrasque.
If every dungeon was trying too hard to be gimmicky, that would made the game way worse.

The Frenzied Flame chamber has an illusory wall that opens into Darkroot Depths?!?!

How tf is any normal player expected to find an illusory wall in a place where you can't swing your weapon? Who was that one crazy person that dodge-rolled into every wall in that place to see if they're illusory or not?

Using Margit or Mohg's Shackles any time you get suspicious also helps. They dispel any and all Illusory Walls in a very wide radius.

I'll be honest, I'm pretty sure Fextralife spoiled me on this one, so I can't speak on how difficult on how it would've been to find naturally.

NPC safe areas, along with magic plot armour for Roderica and some other NPSs is the most stupid thing in ER and one of the very few elements that scream that they were added to cater to general gaming public.

Inability to attack during dialogues should be enough to prevent new players to accidentally harm NPCs.

NPCs should be non-attackable at all times. Like, your weapon should just pass through them without interaction, and with no acknowledgment by the NPC. It didn't really happen. That way there would be no need for enforced tranquility areas.

If you want to attack a non-hostile NPC, you should have to use a special item that enables that function for a few minutes. Call it "thorns of derangement", give it unlimited uses and put it right next to the pointless item that kills you and deletes your souls/bloods/runes if you use it, which they have in every soulsgame for some reason.

Having magical safe areas is still better than NPCs breaking basic rules of interaction in the game, at least magical safe zones are explained and exist in the game's world.

NPCs should have their own rules. You can explain it as a world-wide magical tranquility aura that prevents sentient beings from harming each other unless they use a special magical item that suspends it temporarily.

The Malenia fight is so infuriating. The most obnoxious, worst boss fight in the entire From profile. Maybe the worst and most unfair fight I have ever played, period, in all of gaming. Certainly the past 30 years, easy. Weird, unnatural, random delays on attacks, absurdly high butthole damage, and she has life leech? I guess it is counterbalanced by being weak to bleed but then she has waterfowl, completing the garbage trifecta (or quadfecta). Absolute waste. Awful. Horrible. But I'm still going to 1v1 her and win. Got her to phase 2 twice after like an hour or so. Lots of swearing and literally punching my controller out of fury. I hate this stupid broad so, so much. The other Fromsoft difficult fights are FAIR. Everything in Sekiro is FAIR and excellent. Everything. It's a work of art. But not this. Lo, I learn that Tanimura apparently had a big influence on this game. It really shows with the enemy spam, copy/paste, etc. And the Malenia fight. Bro it's so epic bro you're supposed to pop a blood vessel while playing! It's that epic challenge bro, challenge where an AI reads your inputs and swishes a sword around and takes half your health and refills her own it's classic nintendo hard, bro!

learn how to fight

I tried to use spells against her. Din't worked, so I switched to moonlight dark moon greatsword and worked much better in the first phase. In her second phase, I tried like 5 time, only managed to down her to 20% hp and decided to summon other players to beat her.

Did you try using the night spells, in particular Night Comet combined with the Staff of Loss? Late game bosses will dodge all spells but not these ones and they are decently powerful. You then can pretty much skip phase 2 if once she does her big rot flower attack you use Comet Azure + the magic crystal tear and cerulean tear combo while she is still on the attack animation.

What the hell, you don't?
Unironically, I found most of the illusory walls after spoiling the existence of the first one in the boss room. The whole area just screamed 'illusion fuckery' ever since you left the sewers.

Also, the bullshit part about Malenia is that she always gains health back when she attacks you, even if you block 100% of her damage with a shield. You lose no health, but she still leeches it... BULLSHIT. There's no shame in using anything and everything you have at your disposal to beat this one boss. I summoned the black knife assassin for the first and only time to beat Malenia in the last playthrough. The Comet spell also sounds pretty interesting.

There's no illusory wall in fake Mohg's boss room.
And how do you access the frenzied flame? Where is the fingerprint shield located and how do you reach it?

The only bullshit regarding Malenia is that waterfowl attack she does. Everything else is fine.
