What. The. Fuck. Is there some sort of conspiracy to prevent games from raising the bar or even evolving?blitzblotz said:In 2005, I saw Project Offset.
This is from a company without the money that Bethesda has to back them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0wklH5m ... h_response

Perhaps even the odd respawn, so you can level above the expected paygrade if you want to reload less often?
No?

Anyone cancelling a game that looks *half* as good as that Project Offset clip (which was probably barely in alpha) simply has to be retarded beyond drooling vegetable state. And then they do it without really explaining why.Gord said:tehRPness said:What. The. Fuck. Is there some sort of conspiracy to prevent games from raising the bar or even evolving?
The conspiracy is called "multi-platform-development".
As long as they are restricting themselves to more than 5 year old console hardware, we are not going to see any revolution, graphics-wise.
As for gameplay, they develop games mostly according to what they think will sell best.

That's funny, because I don't remember them getting any criticism for level scaling.
