Jetpack+melee combo looks interesting. Still want to see more populated areas and interaction with NPC's.

I had kind of hoped that they'd differentiate the weaponry for different enemytypes at least to some extent, that something like chainsords wouldn't have been the weapon of choice against giant robots.

Oh well.

Looks like a typical PB game, just without any fucking pirates. The setting is interesting. I am feeling a bit of a Gothic/Risen 1 vibe. Jetpack jumping looks derpy. Graphics are dated (to be expected from a small developer).

I like it.

Wow, the combat looks like utter shit. Ranged weaponry seems only useful for aggroing the enemy, and then switching to melee weapons when they approach. That was ok in Gothic/Risen games with bows and such, but futuristic laser guns being that bad is really immersion-spoiling. Melee-wise, it seems like the only good attack is the "swoop up on jet pack and come crashing down with a slash" one. How far have we come from the elegant timing based combat of G1/G2 to this rocket powered popamole. Pretty much lost all hope once I saw this trailer. This is not the Piranha Bytes that made the Gothics.

These low budget sci-fi fantasy rpgs like elex and technomancer, are made because the developers lack the skills, the talent and the imagination to bring forth a fully realized sci-fi setting.

The preference of melee and close combat when high-power ranged weapons are available, the low damage output of said weapons, only goes to highlight such creative mediocrity.

Just sayin'

Anyway, the combat does indeed need some more work, but it is also a pre-alpha. So that is to be expected.
