I have to give Risen 3 a second chance, even Risen 2 was more fun for me because i finished Risen 2, but with Risen 3 after 1-2 hours i had no desire to play more, setting and story very bland and uninteresting. I hope Elex would be much better.
Do it, game is big and opens up the more you play. Its good fun, jank at its best. Just have fun bro.

The music is nice. I thought that they will not be able to match Kai Rosenkranz in Risen 2 and after, but turns out that the change of composer was the least of their problems.

You imbecile. Rosenkranz left after Risen 1, which is readily apparent if you compare risen 1 and 2 soundtracks, even if you don't know when he left exactly.

PS: My bad. Reading fail.

The intro got me confused. How did the shooting squad find protagonist-dude so fast? He got shot down in the middle of nowhere. And how the hell can he feel withdrawal symptoms after 3 goddamn minutes?

"i feel emotions now because i have withdrawal symptoms from elex". Man, how bad is that line of dialogue? I have watched porn with less forced dialogue lines.

I already hate the protagonist with his cringy wannabe-badass voice and cringy dialogue lines. I didnt ask for this shit and i dont think any fan would have. I hoped for someone like the nameless hero, a lighthearted scoundrel type of character with fun dialogue lines who is likeable and doesnt take himself too serious. PB now seems to think they have to go for a more serious tone and instead of Han Solo we get to play whichever moronic dudebro character Vin Diesel plays in Fast and Furious or Triple-X or whatnot. Fuck that, seriously. Why would that Berserker in the video even let the protagonist alive when he sneaks up on him and still boasts about how badass he is and threatens the guy even after he spared his miserable life? If i were him i would shrug, split that idiots head and go grab a bite somewhere.

I keep thinking they changed their tone to adress the 13YO Call of duty legions who got a taste of dem arpegees with Dragon Age and Mass Effect. But that wont work, they will watch the ultra low production introduction scene, laugh on twitch about it and shut down the game to rate it 0/10 on metacritic cause graphics. Or they will simply watch the "funny" video angrydownsyndromejerk made about the game.

I wanted to be positive about this game so bad, but that video turned down my enthusiasm to almost zero. Its a shameful display of a company that once was among the greatest of them all.

So far seems well crafted. Graphics aren't as good as a standard as in G1 times BUT the game is such looks and feels pretty good. I want to play it!

So far enough of a Gothic vibe for a day 1 purchase. I hope so bad they don't mess it up. Damn, even moved my mouse when the gameplay started in the first preview vid.

Part 2 of the preview looks better. Seems like with Risen2, PB has developed a habit of putting together atrocious introductions to their games.

You people are going to get seriously burned if you think this lazy POS will hold any water to the heydays of Gothic.

Ofcourse we wont expect that, but its not like we get showered in high quality openworld a-rpgs. It will be better than Andromeda or Fallout 4 that i'm pretty sure of atleast.

People are getting excited about this post-apocalyptic Skyrim? Why? Even the combat is the same shitty real-time action adventure tripe.

Indeed, everything shown so far is terrible...

'Risen 2 and 3 are actually fun'

'it might be shit, but not as such as fallout 4 or mass effect'

'feels just like Gothic 1'

'jet packs!'

Not sure what's going on here, but codex Gothic withdrawal is more serious than the 3 minutes it took the main protagonist to go from super drug commando to monologing former junkie.

Just because everything else is shit doesn't imo warrant spending money on something slightly less shitty. But hey, it's your money.

Heck, I haven't even played a really good RPG since Fallout:NV! Do they even make good RPGs these days?

Good thing you already tested the game for us...

Eh, sorry chumps, but ALL of PB games have been fun. Not shitty, or slighltly less shitty. From Gothic 1 to Risen 3, ive played them all and had nothing but enjoyment. ELEX will probably be as janky as they come and far from polished, but again, no other company makes games like PB so im all over it if its decent enough. I like perfect, polished and 10/10 games as much as anyone else, doesnt mean there is no fun to be had with those that arent held in high regard.

I have played and enjoyed so many poorly revewed games that either i have low standards or reviewers are shmucks.
