Homing missiles with level 3 Warbow .....come here you tech lovers!
Not going to lie; the idea of homing arrows appeals enormously to me, even though I cannot imagine that it'll be better than Clerical AoE:s. If I ever get to finish this playthrough and get around to another one, I'm definitely going full-on berserker.
You get to tag tree assholes and kill them with the first shot if the bow is powerful. In the final chapter was doing wonders for me.

Level 32, Chapter 4, things are coming to a head. I'm actually enjoying the 'linear' main missions more than is usual with PB because (1) I'm still not roflstomping everything, (2) you have the whole world open to you all the way at least this far, and (3) actually, god forbid, the story and setting is reasonably interesting if not taken too seriously, and like R1's bandit king, the strengths of the writing is in the motivations of the characters and how realistic their assholeness is.

As a Berserker, I'd say 2 ranks in melee and ~'second tier' weapons (~50-60 STR) lets you take on most things 1v1. And no I'm not talking about kiting and hacking something 300 times. Group fights can still get you killed very very quickly, however, and one thing I appreciate is how you don't gain HP until you can just tank everything.

With 3 ranks in magic my fire fist seems best suited to taking out mechs. I had that massive dogfight that some other guy was complaining about before, and I suspect because I'm pew-pewing fireballs rather than doing huge AOE spells it wasn't really that bad. Couple of reloads because I hit the wrong guys. THey should still have coded the clerics as allies properly in that fight like they do with others, though.

The attrib reqs beyond 60 get crazy since it's 5 points per 1 level, it's going to take a long time to get to that final tier of melee.

Edit: Yeah, I haven't seen anything that needs fire or ice resist. And poison/radiation, the mask + injections is usually enough.

Are there new side quests in new chapters? I advanced to chapter 2 at level 25+ by randomly traveling around the world and I guess talking to bald dude (is he like a chapter progression script guy?), but there are only companion quests to do and once I got promoted to Paladin I didn't get anything to do as Cleric either. World just began to feel very empty once I finished quests in major cities.

I don't think we're exactly supposed to comb the world for every single sidequest before joining a faction (after all, some of those sidequests are pretty difficult), but of course we do that. So after that, I don't think there are many new sidequests, if any. You get several different quests to do with each chapter, though.

Yeah

I think some sidequests are different if you're in a faction -- like the clerics extorting the farmer north of the dam. He mentions "you're not in a faction" if you aren't (still not) so my guess is that plays out differently if you join one.

Otherwise, the only three options are 1) kill (seems like bad ending), 2) pay 2k elexit to bribe them away, or 3) double cross farmer for elexit (with room to haggle for more from cleric)

I left it partially underway to return to after joining a faction to see how it plays out.

As a Cleric, he told me "it's will of Canaan to rob people brother", at which I responded "no it's not bruh, prove it, I dare you, I dare you motherfucker", so he went "well fuck you I guess we're at impasse without judicator bruh, I leave then" and left peacefully.

At least half to half and a quarter of the quests have some line of extra dialogue referencing your faction, some of them have completely different outcomes but I haven't found that too common yet.

That one I think has interesting variations. As a Berserker...

Some Berks later needed a supply of food in Abessa, so I offered to negotiate with this farm, but I had killed the Cleric dude before (I might have been nonfaction then), and the farm had been taken over by other Clerics, who had killed the farmer and now attack you as well, and there's no way to requisition that farm for Berks anymore.

So is it true Piranha Bytes doesn't care about feedback and it would be useless anyway since they're already developing ELEX 2?

How high does your Cold need to be to get the ranged damage bonus from "Synthetic"?

:dead:

he thinks gas stations were food dispensaries, and that people used to worship wind turbines - which I can only interpret as social commentary on the retardation of German energy politics
Hm, that's quite good.

Its overall quality is low.
Sounds like you talking about Fallout3-4.

Until you have at least the Mask and the first ranks of Poison and Radiation resistance, I'd stay away from all areas with Radiation/Poison.
Not true. I cleaned castle ruins near Berserkers without it, found nice enchanted melee weapon, which I coudn't use yet of course, but later... oh my!

1. Play on ultra
2. Don't abuse chemistry for dirty elexite (until they patch it)
3. Don't be a black hole / "insert aoe knockdown here" spamming faggot (until they patch it)

Agree with all except 2. I need it at least a little for meeting starting perks requirements.
Also, what's there to patch?

And the jetpack is actually fun and a feature. The world is designed with the jetpack in mind.
World is designed like that you can access all or almost all places without it, even stating area without it, at least major places like Ragnar's hotel - giant roots everywhere.
I hear that one player go full Berserker and even not using jetpack.

I want to magically enchant my lasgun to shoot condensed beams of righteous sunlight and fire
Calgrim talks about it - what if they, Berserkers could enchance energy weapon of Clerics with magic? What the bright future it can\might be.

That last spoiler is why this game is so good.

It has so many weird ways to finish quests. Aaaaand companions comment on everything and sometimes alter quests. There's a retarded amount of reactivity. It's absurd. Love it.

How does the Magic ability work? Does each level increase it by 10%, or will only the first level give it 10%, then 5% afterwards for each level? Magic seems like a kinda shitty investment at the moment.

I thought the perk description lists it, isn't it like 80+?

Ten percent each but it differs a bit for some spells. Like for Healing it's actually double that.
