Now imagine 144 beings "As far above the Primarchs as the Primarchs are above humanity" (Plague Wars, condensed)-- all with the same drive, motivation, personality and uniquely monomaniacal self-identity-- unleashed on the Imperium. Even supposing something beneficial to the Imperium came out of the clusterfuck that would result from their Highlander-esque infighting, they'd invite a response from all corners of the Xenoverse that we have no way of reacting to right now.

I thought about B... something along the lines of giving the Telos the full truth and trusting that it will wish to reunite itself with its psychic consciousness, but hoping that it will be willing to be guided and protected until that's possible... but in the end it felt more like "blind insanity" than "bold, status-quo shaking maneuver".

ItsChon and Esquilax bring up good points, though. We don't even know if the clone is capable of hosting the original emperor, but it could cause us a lot of problems. I'll also bring up an older point: do we really want the emperor to return now?

If the Pseduo-Emperors aren't psykers how will the Eldar even know? Hell I'm sure we could even easily give them all cosmetic surgery if we're that paranoid (though who even knows what the emperor in his youth would have looked like beyond big buff vaguely Mediterranean looking guy).

Additionally they also mean that if something bad happens to us at the very least there's a lot of genius political and military talent available to replace us. Even if the Imperium's central political structure were to disintegrate the clones should be able to fill the void and protect their own spheres from xenos. There's merits to all the points of view here though and I'm still tempted to flip to B. I kind of see it as a potentially bad for us but a good failsafe for humanity as a whole.

Plus simply narratively it's fun as hell.

Considering Murphy's law, I'm sure that they'll find out one way or another. Eldrad is no dummy and Yvraine lives in the same house palace as us.

Even if the Imperium's central political structure were to disintegrate the clones should be able to fill the void and protect their own spheres from xenos. There's merits to all the points of view here though and I'm still tempted to flip to B. I kind of see it as a potentially bad for us but a good failsafe for humanity as a whole.

Those are the potential upsides, but there are also potential downsides. The Emperor's clone can decide that he should be in charge of the Imperium and launch a civil war, or a palace coup. Reactionary elements in the Imperium can use the clone to replace Guilliman, if our reforms upset them too much. Between the Emepror's son and the Emperor himself, it is clear that Guilliman would not be the first choice. These clones can harm us and the Imperium as much as they can help us, it all comes down to whether or not we can control them in the long term.

Considering that they are exact clones of the Emperor, in almost every respect, I don't think we can.
