Black Lucius Vorenus lol

You gotta be fucking kidding me.

I haven't started yet but looks like it's randomly generated. If I get that in my game I'll uninstall and ask for a refund.

Good luck getting one.

The worst part is that Infinitron said they encrypted the game files. So you can't even mod them out.

The game's data files are encrypted, but saved games probably aren't. Try to figure them out!
Well, the last time I modded out blacks from a game I had pages of fanboys arguing with me that Romans were really black. And the time before that, I ended up making headlines.

Maybe if Fitgirl can hook me up with a review copy I might give it a shot, but otherwise it seems like a hassle, and I don't really feel like giving the devs money when they'll probably just get butthurt and remove the mod anyway. :M

Nice!

I once race swapped a Jade Empire playable character to white guy to roleplay as a westerner with yellow fever on a sex trip. But you're on a whole new level.

In fairness, Paradox games are extremely easy to mod.

I literally just copied the German race attributes and overrode the Italian ones (that looked like black people). People kept bitching that the skin color was too light and that there weren't that many blue-eyed Italians and I just sat there with a straight face and told them not to be racist or whatever.

Starting to think Non-Edgy Gamer's username is inaccurate
I really did try to be less edgy. But when I see stuff like this in games, it just makes me lose it. I mean, I grew up enjoying games like Rome: Total War and every time I see a game like this come out, I think "oh cool, it will be just like those old games I used to play." But then this political bullshit narrative is in it every time.

Having been advised on how to proceed with the game (I had to ask elsewhere, because the game wouldn't tell me), I came to hate hirelings. "Oh, you have a party of levelled, well-equipped characters? Here's a mandatory mission for underleveled schmucks. Have fun outfitting them". What utter retard decided that this tripe will add to the game?

one of the main reasons I punted it to the tacticool category due to roster building
you're going to have to maintain leveled/equipped alternate characters whose only purpose is to do special missions that your main characters aren't allowed to do for non-specific reasons

Vikings shield-maidens existed so I didn't mind.
Expeditions was indeed retarded, women soldiers in Spain or Portugal never existed, not that any country had any back then.

Hilariously, you got it backwards.

Conquistadoras did exist (though the known numbers could be counted on a pair of hands).

Shield maidens most likely didn't. There are no known recordings of women going out with raiding parties*. The women found buried with shields and weapons have a multitude of explanations that don't include "badass female viking raider".

The closest explanation would be "Gal who died defending her home", but even then it's more than likely not the case.

*At least as far as I'm aware. I have looked though.

They exist in legends, much like the Amazons or Jesus. Whether or not those legends are based on actual reality is another matter.

There is proofs prehistoric ladies were as tough as males, it changed when mankind settled and men kept meat for themselves while women only ate cereals and dairy products.

And they were female warriors here and there. Many women took arms when they had to, like in Kurdistan not long ago.
Jesus probably existed, i'm not an expert on the matter though and i'm not saying you should kneel before his effigy but the man once lived, just like amazons and shieldmaidens.

Uh....

Do me a favor. Gather up EVERY book you have on science and history and promptly BURN THEM.

historical accuracy =/= historical plausibility

Regardless of whether or not shield maidens existed (they didn't), my suspension of disbelief isn't shattered if I see one. Same thing can't be said about many things in this game

OTOH Scythian warrior women like Deianeira are archaeologically attested, although at this point in history they probably didn't exist anymore (and I think the game gets around this by saying she was really just a slave who was trained as a gladiator?)

I have a thick skin for wokeness in games(by Codex standards atleast) and even I found that ridiculous.

If it was just a few niggers but 90% of the available centurions being black is just absurd.

:philosoraptor:

And that's why you support expeditions: conquistadors throwing 50% females at the player, on top of this, the traits narrowing your choice, you're just fucked if you don't pick any.

I don't even care if your handful is real or a fantasy, both ways just close the argument in my favor, cheers.
