The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences thought that Fallout 4 was such a great piece of interactive art and science that they awarded it Game of the Year... and Role-Playing (slash Massively Multiplayer) Game of the Year. Wow!

Congratulations to Todd Howard and his team at Bethesda for this outstanding achievement.

GAME OF THE YEAR

Bloodborne
Winner: Fallout 4
Ori and the Blind Forest
Rise of the Tomb Raider
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

ROLE-PLAYING/MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER GAME OF THE YEAR

Bloodborne
Winner: Fallout 4
Pillars of Eternity
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Undertale

The winners of the Interactive Achievement Awards are determined by secure ballot of industry experts. These experts comprise a body of accomplishments in all facets of game craft: art, design, engineering, animation, performance and production. All Academy voting is conducted in secret-online, secure, supervised and certified by eBallot Inc. The Interactive Achievement Awards is broadcast on G4 TV, and G4TV.com.

When I saw the title of this thread, for a few seconds I thought it was referring to the Codex's Game of the Year poll. Be still my heart.

As for the Academy:

This is why modern gaming 'art' and 'design' sucks, with such 'visionaries'.

Odd though that despite FO4 making trillions I totally forgot about it even existing, unlike with Oblivion, Skyrim and FO3 where you were bombarded with references and propaganda at every turn.

No wonder the voting's conducted in secret.

:fight:

Edit/add: Also, OP's title is fucking retarded. Before you know it, someone could quote "'Best game of 2015' - RPG Codex" and not be lying. Even the watch will appear to have better taste.

It's clear to anyone with a brain and a heart that Undertale was the best game of 2015

First Rise of The Tomb Raider wins the writing award and now Fallout 4 wins the best game/rpg title?

Are... are we in some kind of experiment? Should I search my neighborhood for Aperture Science logos?

It's like they voted specifically to be controversial. Most of the awards.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
From the DICE awards web page:

"Since 1996, the D.I.C.E. Awards have recognized games, individuals and development teams that have contributed to the advancement of the multi-billion dollar worldwide entertainment software industry."

Hmmmm

Well, ok, let's see what more do these people at D.I.C.E do...: A conversation with Nicolo de Masi, CEO of Glu Games, the company behind "Kim Kardashian: Hollywood."

:hmmm:

The sole reason they are doing this is probably they don't want a non American company, like a Polish company/game, to win the award (like TWitcher III)

Ofcourse that would be wrong too. We all know the RPG of the Year of 2015 was Darkest Dungeons (and possibly Shadowrun HK but I haven't played that yet)

I suggest the Codex establishes an official anti-reward "Ass Creed Of The Year" and give that to Fallout 4, for its significant achivement of dumbing down a franchise while at the same time providing a minimum of innovation in terms of presentation, mechanics, design, and writing.

The winner shall be determined by an open ballot of esteemed RPG players.

I think Fallout 4 should win Story award since it's so complex that not many can digest the story and get the point by the ending. lol

Bethesdrones, everyone.

Also how the heck did Battlefront win anything?
