The winners of the Interactive Achievement Awards are determined by secure ballot of industry experts. These experts comprise a body of accomplishments in all facets of game craft: art, design, engineering, animation, perlformance and production.

Oh right. Like those "experts" from advertisements endorsing a product's quality or effectiveness. "Fallout 4, less painful than surgical lobotomy!! same effect!! Experts recommend it!!! "

i dont even

Even a lot of the bethtards and actual fans of the game seem to think it's nothing exceptional, that's it's mostly Fallout 3.5.

Yeah, stop the train! DXHR at 56th position must be something wrong here. :smug:

If it had reached the top ten then maybe you would have a case here. ¬¬

I don't know how few RPGs you think are good, but personally I'd say 56 is too high for a bad console shooter when you're talking about the best RPGs of all time.

Even in popamolism, Witcher 3 is obviously better than Fallout 4.

As if it matters which polished(very unpolished in Fallout 4's case, but that's besides the point as they're both still shit) turd wins the most retarded awards in the history of humankind.

Talking about cover art, imo they looked gorgeous at the times when they were mostly hand-pained or drawn; most of the gamebox covers these days do look like shit. The same applies to movie and music album cover art.

best-case alternate reality scenario would be Herve still sitting on the license letting it gather dust.

And that would have been bad? Instead of a bunch of hacks shitting on it and slowly taking all the credit for it? What do you wanna bet that the next one will be just called Fallout, perhaps with a tiny subtitle that will be barely even mentioned?

It's not about FO1&2 not existing anymore because of this, that's just dumb. It's about principles. About not giving in to hacks and liars. And it's about hate. Oh, it's about a lot of hate.

NOTHING will be like Fallout. The fact they release another 7 AAA shooters with the Fallout name on them will still bring you the exact same amount of true Fallout games in the end.

The point being?
Also baking 10 cookies will bring you the same amount of apple pies.

.
Did I ever say that would be bad? I'm simply saying that after Interplay started going downhill Fallout was never going to have a happy ending. There is no magical fantasy land where we would be playing an amazing Fallout 4 right now if it weren't for Bethesda. Instead of ranting about what could have been we should be putting that effort into looking at all the new good stuff coming out or trying to create more games in the spirit of Fallout.

Yes, to that I mostly agree.
The only way I see that it could've come out well was if Troika got the license. Otherwise I think the best to be expected would've just been a washed out experience... in the vein of say... Wasteland 2.
But we didn't even get that. Instead we got Bethesduh's masturbation.

Wasteland 2 was a missed opportunity. It's decent for a run, especially if you get it discounted. It has some fun moments. But the story, quests, areas... how the wasteland generally "works" as you travel around it, gives just a rather hollow experience. I also didn't like much how skills were used in the game. For instance, you can break through one problem usually with so many different skills (with the same outcome), that it kind of feels like one doesn't have to put much thought to what skills to pick in the first place. Pretty much any kind of a team with any set of skills can reach almost any area in the game (not counting skill-specific containers such as safes which are not areas per se). Just my thoughts. Sure it could had been much worse, but I expected wished more from the game.

After you crash land on your way to LA at Santa Fe Springs; that area is horrendously bad imo, especially it's boring quest of fixing the fence. I didn't care much for AG Center, either.

I wonder how many of those actually played any of the games.

A good point, but I still believe the release of FO3 and FO4 is not actually bringing any harm. Fallout classic games are already done and I'll dare say, FO2 already went a bit beyond what would have been needed/desirable.

It’s a matter of principle. Nobody should be alowed to shit on the memory of a classic like that. Just imagine if Bethesda end up buying Underrail from Styg and release another idiotic shooter titled “Underrail”. The avalanche of retarded trailers, causal comments about how they made this crappy indie game into a classic, etc. Would you feel indifferent because that is just a name?

You know the popamole reached critical levels when most mainstream sites members bashes Fallout 4 and it still win the 'best RPG'.

This isn't even sad, it's just funny at this point.

YES!
I AM BANNING THIS ACADEMY BECAUSE THE LACK OF BLACK GAMES!!!!

I find it funny that other things like this with "industry experts" love to show how fancy they are by voting for shit no one ever watches or listens to or gives a shit about, but you can count on the good old games industry to focus on the games that spend 95% of their budget on graphics or hipster shit for kids that everyone just has to have an love.

This is like if Antman won the best movie Oscar as well as best drama and best screenwriter.

Don't get me wrong. I loved Antman and pretty much every comic movie. But I know I have shit taste in movies compared to movie buffs and so called fancy "industry experts." But I sure do enjoy knowing what a fucking joke shit like this must be for people in other, more mature industries not run by moronic hipster monkeys controlled by tyranny of the masses. If the game industry was the movie industry something that completely sucked to most people and that only a handful of people played would win rpg of the year. Probably something weird like Dark Scavenger since it never caught on with the hipsters like Undertail but was hipsterish looking and I thought it would be a smash hit with that crowd.

Inside your mind
Fallout 4 was a huge disappointment for me.
I finished it, after 60 hours or so...

Best RPG this year was the Witcher 3 in my opinion.

Yes, Underrail, AOD and Undertale are great indie games.

But I'll take big fake boobs over natural little tities any day.
That the guy I am.

And the witcher 3 is the best porn clip I've seen in years!

Even though I must admit that the only game I played twise this year was POE with the White March.
