Revamping the engine again makes sense as an explanation I guess. I expected them to do at least one more game on the Skyrim version, but maybe they decided they couldn't get away with that.

Still, I thought they had two teams now? If so the second team must have been working on a new game since before Skyrim came out, which is a long time.

An Obsidian spinoff would've really come in handy right about now.

We could pretend this is fantasy land and Bethesda has nothing to announce at E3 because the big Fallout game they're announcing is made by Obsidian.

I'm pretty sure the Obsidian stalker team over at the other thread would know about that... oh, ok, fantasy land. Louisiana it is, then.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is. Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
I'm actually am happy about no announcement. i still play my PS3 and there are a few upcoming PS3 games that I will buy. But I'm sick of next generation games having current generation versions too. A later announcement likely means that they are focusing on PS4/XBONE/PC. This way, they don't have to make compromises for PS360.

I think I remember an interview from a bit before Skyrim was announced where it was said that they had two projects going on, one in pre-production and one that they've been working for a while already (that being Skyrim).

That's more like one and a half teams.
More like one team with different skills. Not much for level designers etc. to do while the basic game systems and resources are being made, so they get to make DLCs while the programmers hack together the start of the next game.

I think this is what I was remembering as well. Perhaps it's more that there's one team but they work on multiple projects toward the beginning and end of a game.

I'm seriously not seeing why they couldn't hand control of Fallout over to Obsidian and focus all their efforts on the Elder Scrolls, but then I'm not a business genius like the guys at Bethesda.

Because not everyone who likes fantasy likes sci-fi, and not everyone who likes sci-fi likes fantasy. You guys need to learn your marketing.

There's also the scary fact that a lot of people consider Fallout 3 superior, and probably a lot of people inside Bethesda.

There are also reviewers who thinks that Fallout 3 is superior to Fallout 1 & 2.

Yes, it's only a Spanish page. But their marks are registered on Metacritic.

I find it funny how Bethesda take their time and don't rush any of their games, only to release crap like Fallout 3 or Skyrim in the end. It's, like, the ultimate irony or something.

It's those daily team meetings that take up a big chunk of their time.

"Ok gang, how can we make the dialogue and quests even more retarded this time around?"

The people at Bethesda enjoy working on the franchise. I don't think it has to be any more complicated than that.
