There is no inherent superiority of any combat implementation. And fallout 1/2 is, case in point, are good examples of that. As both have a somewhat bad and uninteresting combat. Whereas, let's say BG2, has better, realtime combat.
you'd also get appropriate reactions in conversations in fallout 1 & 2Fallout 1 & 2 low intelligence conversation options - Me like you. Wub wub. etc
Fallout 3 low intelligence conversation options - Everything except high intelligence extra options.
do eeeetAlmost makes me want to put INT back into Shelter.
sure... on the first playthrough i usually take high int, i do try out low int characters on subsequent playthroughs, though. adds to replayability.Unfortunately I think this is an attribute that needs to go away, because nobody really plays with low int (crap, forum upgrade destroyed poll results ) ... and because high INT is just a stupid "win" button.
Are you calling me the shitposter? Because I haven't been doing that in this thread. I have been arguing with a willfully-blind grognard though. It's really hard to spot the shitposter shihonage. What's next. Arguing with Volourn?
Man, you are reacting like I insulted your mother. It's called videogames, and if you are a grown man getting your panties in a twist over them, you should seek help.
No really, that's gotta be one of the stupidest complaints I've ever heard about any game,

Fallout 3 is fucking awful. The textures are awful, the animations are awful, the acting is awful, the writing is awful, the shooting is awful (which is a huge downfall considering Fallout 3 isn't an RPG), the guns sound weird (pistols don't sound like pistols), its buggy, there's literally no Fallout lore outside of The Brotherhood & Set the World on Fire, there's no humor or color (while I understand its an apocalypse, but Fallout 3 is literally just brown and gray), the decisions are arbitrary (it always dissolves in to "shoot everything" anyways), the level scaling removes the need for role-playing, & the stats feel "last minute" (I believe Menckenstein provided a good example).
New Vegas suffered from engine issues but it kept true to the lore, the writing is better, there's no more level scaling, the stats have meaning, you can get out of situations with conversations, there's color & humor, & the faction system adds a lot; as for the bugs, the only bugs I've had is a radscorpion getting stuck in the ground, getting stuck in the environment 2 times (though in Fallout 3, it happened to me constantly), & freezing on me 2 times.
Bethesda should hand the Fallout IP over to the brilliant guys at Obsidian and let them self publish Fallout games so A: bug testing considering Obsidian's bugs are the result of publishers rushing them and making them use shitty engines (Bethesda) & B: we would get a turn based, party based ("companions" =/= actual party members), isometric RPG since that's clearly what Obsidian wants to make but publishers won't let them and use the bullshit excuse of "because it won't appeal to everyone".
the whole dialog with the doctor is stupid, not only the sex part

Oh FFS, I see that the butthurt over F3 is still strong. Just get over it, Fallout is dead, better hope for a completely new franchise, or that Fargo will deliver with W2. Because you can bet any money that with F4 bethdesda won't even pretend to try to appeal to fans of the original by having fallouty references like "Nuka Cola" and "Vaults". Why should they, their new consolefag audience is more than enough to bathe them in precious metals.

What are you talking about, Fargo is our only hope, nobody except him and indies wants to make isometric turnbased crpgs... "Big" developers and publisher will probably never make games like that anymore...
I guess I was just too obvious.Fallout 3 is fucking awful.
