Not a lot of standout quests ("go here, kill this/retrieve that"), there aren't many towns, the ones that exist have almost no depth aside from Diamond City and there aren't even memorable theme park locations ala FO3. So the only thing left to keep it in the news would be mods. And while we have seen a truly impressive amount of them considering the official tools haven't been released yet, it's not enough.

edit: And what do you know, an article on Kotaku about...a mod. The Extreme Weather mod to be exact.

The whole releasing of the GECK next year seems to be a horrible decision, I'm guessing they thought this game would feed the crowd of shitheads, but looks like they ate through it and moved on.

Hell, I got up to lvl.29 and fell asleep on the desk waiting for the loading screens to pass, only to trudge through another barren part of the game. The game can barely hold my attention at all with how shit it is, and the best part was when I woke myself up to still see loading screens, the first game I suddenly got a growing desire was Starcraft and Starcraft: Brood War. Turned that on instead and next thing you know, I'm at Mission 9 for Terrans at 4:32 AM from midnight, still getting that buzz on playing.

When a game in 1998 delivers a story and hooking the player better than your newest game, you know you fucked up.

You kidding, Starcraft and Brood War are better at hooking you than their own sequel(s?). Guess that's what happens when you start writing like it's World of Starcraft.

I'm not going to argue with the sentiment that Brood Wars is a far superior game than FO4, but I'm not sure I buy this line. In literature, narrative devices and the understanding of how to tell proper stories doesn't really evolve on a scale that can be measured in decades. When a game like Mount and Blade, a game made by something like 2 people in buttfuck nowhere almost a decade ago, can deliver melee mechanics that make Skyrim's offering look like kindergartners scribbling with crayons, it's pretty obvious you can't expect technological progress or man-hours to be correlated with engaging gameplay experiences or a strong narrative.

That thing caused a mini crisis in the gaming scene, which lasted for about 20 hours I believe. I guess FO4 wasn't interesting enough for people to bother about possible cases of corruption.

Uh huh

Well maybe Fallout 4 is simply getting low ratings because the game is shit and you can't accept that because you are retards (or paid shills)?

It was the same decision with Skyrim, game released, Creation kit following year. Don't fool yourselves guise, there is enough perverted sexual energy on Lover's lab alone to keep Fallout 4 modding going strong for years.

Skyrim was much bigger and better received than Fallout 4 though. It might as well be Beth's peak when it comes to reviews and shit like that. They have no room for innovations and now they are just beginning to die.

Let's not kid ourselves, here. Almost any developer in the world would kill for a sign of 'dying' like the launch of Fallout 4. Shattering sales records easily drowns out the wails of discontent. Were far more people aware of the failings of Gamebryo's zombie corpse this time 'round? Yup. But this is Bethesda, not Obsidian. Mainstream journalists devote whole paragraphs and ten minute video chunks to describing problems and then give the game a 9/10/A++ anyway. Then write an article excusing them as part of the Bethesda charm (this actually happened). Bethesda fucked up the PS3 versions of Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Skyrim, each of them trying to commit suicide the longer you played them. Still didn't slow down the consumer demand. They bought a PS4 and told themselves this time it would be different. Now they're getting 20 fps, unless they bought the Xbone version. 0 fps at times, lol. Yet when the next Elder Scrolls game appears they'll be right there lining up. As will a tide of new people lured in by a marketing budget that could fund AoD sequels into the next century.

Maybe the stream of specialists they just hired are being squirreled away to build a new engine for another Fallout. Because let's get real, Elder Scrolls VI has been under way for at least a year so it's stuck to the CE. But why bother? They could make 3-4 more releases just bolting crap on willy-nilly before it affected sales.

Good point, should be more measured on the quality of the inside crew of the company rather than the quantity of years, which makes sense, because apparently, you can give Bethesderp 5+ years to work on a story, and they'll still give you the same thing: Shit.

IMO Broodwar had derpy story about Kerrigan fucking over literally everyone and focusing on idiots like Artanis or Rashagal or some moronic cereberates or whatever was their name.

Majority delivers shit. But majority also pays for it. IMO only GTA V was step forward in gaming development, they brought 3 characters with switching mechanic. It was present in games like Conflict: Desert Storm (if I recall correctly it's name) but in GTA you saw great potential in story-telling or mission designs. They failed many times to deliver flawless masterpiece but made great game nontheless. And Bethesda? Let's copy paste every fucking mechanic from Morrowind and improve almost nothing except power armors.

Game in 2015 with loadings and corridor dungeons with fedex quests to go kill stuff then get back for some shitty reward is not even a joke, it is an insult. If you are in gaming for at least 10 years then you can see that only graphics advance forward, story, characters and core gameplay is still same. That's why Dark Souls became popular, because it was fresh idea for players to be fucked over in first hours of the game and be forced to memorize movesets of their enemies and use exploits.

Broodwar's writing looks like Tolstoy compared to SC2's abortion of a story

God, the amount of stupidity in that thread makes me :x so hard.

Who the fuck these people ?
how can they say their second playthrough is more fun than the last, when it's a same fucking thing no matter how much you replayed the game.

Are they even human ?
I saw that stupid shit. Look at this fucktard:

You are in the minority. Role playing is not about dialogue choices and different reactions, and never was, even going back to the original D&D and Wizardry. I have no idea why various people keep making posts claiming dialogue has anything to do with role playing when it simply doesn't and this can be seen throughout the history of role playing games, both physical and computer.

Really? Yeah, sure if we're talking about Akalabeth:World of Doom, maybe dialog and branching choices weren't top priorities, but as CRPGs have developed, those things became more viable and certainly integral to the CPRGs we've grown fond of. What a fucking joke, just like that whole forum.

I think they might even have the codex beat as far as shutting down dissenting opinions. We have to do something.

There's nothing else we can do, because their overzealous moderator will shut down any thread to even start resembling critical/negative view about the game.

What i find disturbing is, a lot of people in that forum claim to be in 35-50 and playing older CRPG dating back in 1970s.

Yet they still saying Fallout 4 is the BEST RPG EVA in the last decade.

WTF

You know they're lying. Anybody can make up some bullshit on the internet. They use that for their gamer cred when in reality they're probably 13-22 year old dudes with a furry fetish who grew up on Zelda and Halo, probably first RPG for them was Morrowind, but they still have a soft spot for FFVII.

edit: What's funny is that there seem to be less dissenters there now. Either they've left or got banned, which I wouldn't be too surprised from the latter. I think Gizmo still posts there, but I haven't seen him in a minute.

There's still couple good poster in there, but most of them is contained in Fallout Universe Sub-Forum (Lore Discussion).

It's the only "Sane" part in whole Bethesda Fallout Forum imo.

Morrowind?
For every person I know that has enjoyed Fallout 4, the first "RPG" they played was Skyrim.

I still have enough courage (or stupidity) to roam through the suicidal barren wastelands known as Fallout 4's thread.
If you think that shit is bad, this post made me want to reach through the screen and strangle the mongrel. http://imgur.com/HB7fsfn

Seriously, the people on there are so full of bullshit/ air, you could use them as either farms or weather balloons.

It's very hard to keep a straight face in that forum of theirs while feeling the urge to let the true colors fly out.
