The one area where they could fuck up is not doing proper disclosure. If they do it by the book they will get a small fine and it will mostly be PR damage. If they fuck up with their response then they could get hammered, especially by the EU who actually care about these things.

Just like Star Wars I pretend nothing exists outside the original series, so I really dont care what Bethesda does with lore.

You miss some fun drama this way, now when Beth re-writes their own lore and their fanboys jump at their throats.
Also, Zahn Star Wars books are better than any Star Wars movie after EVI.

Splinter of the Mind's Eye was complete crap, and the comics didn't do that well either. The resurrected Emperor and World Devastators were so far out there that it was hilarious.

Then Zahn hit, and suddenly, the EU exploded. It was a great time for Star Wars, despite a few shits that were thrown in (Crystal Star, I am looking at you). And then the fucktards ran out of ideas and brought in the Yuzhang Von or whatever the fuck that race of masosadists were called and the brown matter hit the ventilation device. Everything since was crap, with all sorts of Mary Sues and emotards everywhere. And then, they introduced Episode 1-3 which were crap in terms of writing (dialogue, etc.), but not too bad otherwise. THEN, they sold to Disney. Oh, muh stronk wymmyn!

Turns out they can only stomach Bethesda’s awful gameplay if it’s wrapped in at least a thin veneer of player driven narrative. You strip out human characters, towns, and a plot and even Bethesda fanboys start to notice they’re playing a shit game. As bad as Bethesda’s stories and characters may be, they’re what sustains the illusion of awesomeness for these people. Instead they got a limited multiplayer experience that brings very little to the table.

If you LARP in the woods and there are no NPCs there to hear it, does it make a sound? Apparently not. And since the servers aren’t persistent, your ability to permanently affect the world is nil.

Plus, by all accounts the combat and settlement building are, mechanically, somehow much worse than Fallout 4. In a way, it’s a real achievement.
