If this truly is anything like DayZ, Rust, or Fornite, they are playing with fire here.

How many Fallout and 'RPG' fans are going to buy this on name alone and then have entirely awful experience? Choose one option: getting killed by a griefing hacker or getting killed by a griefing no-lifer.

The only people that win and enjoy these multiplayer anything-goes survival sims are full autist. If you want to win at Rust you have to play it like a fulltime job every single day, and people do. Rust is not a gaming experience. It is an experience of learning of how pointless many people's lives truly are.

What will be the most dangerous encounter in the wasteland? A group of fully-kitted 13 years olds rushing you with their battle cry: autistic screeching.

Breaking news, bethesda games aren't made for fans of their franchises or rpgs.
Stay tuned.

Nobody said it was anything like Fortnite. It was compared against Rust and ARK.

The Kotaku guy really sounds like he is trying to rolling everyone.

First starts with "some sort of online game", then change it into "not strictly a single player game".

Look on the bright side. With Bethesda money, maybe we'll finally get one of those sandbox/survival games that isn't a broken-janky-buggy-unplayable piece of shit.
> Bethesda's old-ass engine
> multiplayer
> not something broken-janky-buggy-unplayable

Compared to the rest of the ''genre'' a launch day Bethesda games looks like the pinnacle of polish.

Well, since multi-player is pretty much confirmed:

best case scenario: singe player game with co-op elements in it, like Divinity Original Sin. if this is the case will try it.

worst case scenario: Rust clone and forced on-line 24/7.
