It is possible new stuff will come with the new expansion considering there is the huge graphic patch coming. Gotta just wait and see. As for myself i hope the next patch will conclude the void Arc.

New expansion announced. Worst one yet.
Summer 2024 release date. Get ready for a 9 month long content drought.
Same mediocre cast of Scions.
First zone: generic mountains.
Second zone: generic tropical forest.
Where is the cool high fantasy world to explore?
Beast tribe isn't even beastman; it's just a copy-pasted short human NPC from FF10.
Second expansion in a row without any new relic zones.
SE is going to make more money off of selling jet black dyes since you gotta dye both channels now.
Rather than spend our sub money developing new battle content like relic zones, we get this Fall Guys gimmick activity in FF14? If they were going to add another side activity they could have added something appropriate like Blitzball.
FF14 fast churning through the PC and Playstation userbases, now coming to Xbox to churn through its userbase too.
Seems a bit premature to call.
I'd settle for just having to heal in pve (short of a disaster party).Also, just let me be proper healer in pvp again, Yoshi-p...

Unless they make healers fun again, EW will be my last expansion, and I won't be playing outside of the free login periods either.
I resent the current trend of making the jobs near identical and brain dead easy; reducing them to essentially role glamours.
They need an updated design paradigm too.
Bozja showcases the best of what the ShB paradigm is capable of.
EW doesn't stray from it, and retroactively changed ARR, HW, and StB to match.

Glad that there's not even upscaled 4K support on the Xbox Series S. Gives me some confidence that the visual upgrade coming with 7.0 might actually be substantial (they already said it probably wouldn't be supported on PS4). By which I mean I hope we're finally free of extremely visible low res textures bang in the middle of MSQ cutscenes.
As someone who's actually a part of the new wave of players they're trying to appeal to with these changes, I'm eternally confused why they'd go so full on with them. It's sure not making more people play healer, going off the queue times for DPS jobs. And it's like they somehow got it in their head that new players are permanently new, and for some reason, guaranteed to be hyper-casual.
Would like to believe it it's all just to make it easier to iterate new ways to define jobs against each other, but I'm not naive enough to believe that was the plan. For the love of god, though, if they're going to make you spam damage as a healer so much of the time, they need to make that """rotation""" less brain dead.
You are dangerous so the powers that be thank you for your service then get rid of you before you jeopardize their positions.

Auculd managed both the WoW and FFXIV subforums and hands out infractions left and right. Go slightly offtopic? Infracted. Make a reference to the fact that WoW is in decline when discussing the quality and quantity of content? Infracted for "WoW is dying is forbidden". Make a reference to SE's pattern over the past 4 years of chasing after new players while not caring about retaining veterans? Banned for trolling.
The funny thing is that most of the nation leaders in FFXIV only have their position because of the player. The player aided Merlwyb's ascension to pirate admiral in 1.0, and then in ARR you kill off her rivals. You help prevent the Sultana from being overthrown and kill her opposition. You break Aymeric out of prison and kill the pope, overthrowing Isghard's Church and replacing it with parliament that has Aymeric as its lead representative, then killed the dissenters who tried to depose him. You help Hien overthrow the imperial government (by drowning his castle and all of the civilians in it) and reclaim Doma as his kingdom, then kill off any dissenters. You kill Eulmore's ruler and replace it with democratic republic. You overthrow imperial rule of Bozja and replace it with another democratic republic. Garlemald? Killed the last surviving royalty and turned it into another democratic republic. You have to wonder if the WoL is going to wind up overthrowing the sovereign in this new land. Maybe the finding a new ruler thing is a psych and we're actually going to replace it with another democracy.

Exactly. Nobody in power wants a serial revolutionary like that around. From the looks of it in Dawntrail they wisened up and shipped the WoL to the Americas so that he can WoL all over the place there.

Long story short, Viera Queen is fucked bois. That's what you get for simping so fucking hard on this shit...
Wasn't really fair on XIV players to have CBU3 focused on a mainline FF game. (I would say say FF players need to learn to unsub / take breaks (and they should), but the housing system does make it extremely punitive.)
