Besides those and the enchantments that drain mana or health, all other are useless....why should I use "10% of chance of poisoning for 20 damage" instead of "+30 every hit"?

But still, is my only complain until now! (just became a Dragon, U MAD DA2?) :smug:

Just finished another run and only now encountered a hilarious easter egg in the ending:
if you killed the Killer Bunny during the first part of the game, you'll see him imprisoned along with you in one of the crystals in the Hall of Echoes.

Typical for Larian to add some lulz to what is supposed to be a dramatic ending.

Ending fight was the easiest I've had so far as well. No matter how powerful rangers & mages are, in the end they're still kinda glass cannons. With my pure warrior I could just rush in and rape everything with a maxed Whirlwind without losing any health due to Life leech.

Just started Divine Divinity and gonna play DKS after.. never played either before, going to pass on Beyond Divinity for the sake of a game->sequel type buzz.

Loving it so far, and have played the DKS demo through a couple times (after reading this thread), must say.. think i've found another franchise to put in the 'yeah bros' folder.

Better game than most.

DKS. BG2 and the Apple IIe classic 'Where in the World is Carmen Sandiago?' are on my podium of eternal AWRSOME for the moment.

Enjoyed DD?

Check out spoilers afterwards to check the absurd amount of hidden things in the game.

Pity about the grinding ending.

Really liking it... to be honest, never really delved into Hack'n'Slash games at all until DD : feeling the loot grabbing/killin' a plenty vibe it's putting out :)

Oooh, necroing this thread put the game back in my mind - now I have an itch to play it again with a different build.

I finished DKS in Dec/Jan and loved it. In fact, even now after the initial glow has worn off, I'd still say it's the most fun I've had with a new game in quite a few years - the first I've actually played start to finish non-stop (bar sleeping, eating and shitting) in many, many years.

Well done again, Larian.

A hallmark of a good game - when you have this "shit, I want to play it again" feeling.

Fun is the word, I think most developers should hang out at Larian HQ for a bit to get the fun back in their collective asses.

Is there quite a loot haul in DKS? Unique weapons/Gold items et al?

The only thing i didn't quite like about DD loot mechanics, is that they scaled to level, even the uniques.

I guess i'm butthurt about that complete set of dragon armor that could be much better if i was level 30 when i got it (sick i know).

Also, if you want to ruin your game and sanity, you could observe that that the stats are level scaled, but with a random factor that changes on reload, and the mouse cursor doesn't get saved in the save.

Find potentially interesting unique, save, put mouse over unique so that it reveals, reload 50 times.

Hm... what's the most "fun" skill tree? I played halfway twice but I don't ever remember being satisfied with my skill bar.

First time I played a melee-type, but I gave up halfway because it was buggy and awkward at launch.

Then I played an archer earlier this year but got distracted.

Mage just seems annoying because of the cooldowns. I derno.

Pure warrior is the most powerful class in the long run in DKS.

Archer was nerfed (especially explosive arrows + lack of decent bows) and magic, while powerful, is pretty ineffective against the last boss.

Archer has split arrows shotgun with hitting power roughly equal to that of Detritus' crossbow (Discworld).

Mage has magic missiles that don't have any visible cooldowns, but magic is indeed weak against final boss(es).

Yeah, it's certainly not perfect by any means. In fact if you analyse it too closely you'll come up with quite a few faults and things that could have been done better. Dragon combat was a bit meh, for instance - needed jetpacks or something to liven things up ........... oh wait. ;)

It's just one of those games that, despite it's flaws, are still extremely enjoyable and addicting. I really hope Larian keep improving because they sure have the basics (and then some) down pat.

7 hours deep in DKS and shit is brilliant.. the attention to detail, funny-as-fuck dialogue, art design and story are excellent. From those of you who are deep into/finished the game, how's the rest fare against the start? Didn't think it would be THIS good to be honest, stoked. :salute:

I'd also like to mention that having played/finished Divine Divinity prior to kicking off DKS makes you appreciate some of the smaller things in the world/dialogue that are loosely or directly in reference to DD.

Haven't encountered the aforementioned Terror Squad yet, but will hack at them with Slayerbane once I do :D

So far this game's been so bloody great.. farrkin fantastic. I know I sound a bit giddy/lovey-dovey regarding DKS.. but fuck me sideways, it's that good : exceeded all expectations so far by a long shot.. on that note, what the shit? was going on with the reviews around the media sites? What were those guys smoking? Shit deserves a 9/10 MINIMUM.

I'm sure Bioware took a bunch of stuff from this for ME2 also... the Poetry spouting Guard.. the Salesman "Have you read History of the Dragon Knight?" ditty, could be coincedence, either way it's very well done in every respect - don't blame them for copying really, it's a prime example of a good aRPG.

I must say, the lack of handholding is brilliant, you still never feel lost/overwhelmed at all, you just don't feel like you're being wet-nursed through the game: no nipple dripped shit here.. The game assumes you're not a retard, which is nice for a change.

And I'm guessing you still haven't encountered the Dragon Patrol...

And ATE them!

P.S. It's Dragon Terror Patrol.
Just encountered/sliced up the terror squad - Slayers on PCP   ...those pre-battle stances were excellent...

With that and all the fortress action done and dusted, it's time for Hall of Echoes me thinks.. (shouldn't be too gimped on level 35 I reckon).

Brilliant game - 40 hours in - Balls deep in goodness.
