Eador, does it work yet? $6 is tempting.

Grab the Codex by the pussy Divinity: Original Sin Torment: Tides of Numenera Shadorwun: Hong Kong Pathfinder: Kingmaker Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture
For all the others thinking about making a purchase here, don't waste your money on that game and purchase the original Eador instead. The newer version should have been called Master of the Broken Game. Go take a break for a couple of hours and purchase it once all the suckers have taken that bullet for you.

Eador has passed to give us SNIPER ELITE: BERLIN 1945.

Real happy it's gone, huh?

Considering the fact that most of those games (if not all) was or will be free (limited, but still free) - prices are better.
How many of said free games have you personally managed to grab? How much time have you had to waste sitting on GOG's site?

I guess not everyone's time is worth the same amount so yeah, maybe getting one or two 5 buck games for free is worth a few hours for some, but I'm not seeing the appeal.

I grabbed three free games. And all of them during work time, so it's wasted time anyway. And I didn't spent much time on this. I spent some, but since I am at work and I have to work, I am not staring at monitor and with GOG.com opened, waiting for next promo.

BTW. Thunderscape seems to really be (dungeon) crawler.

JudasIscariot It was pretty cruel from you that you added every IE games to the sale except IWD2? Why, man? I could have completed my IE collection with it.

Make 10000 copies of Jack Keane 2, 1000 copies of Omerta, 100 copies of Ultima IX, 10 copies of Redshirt and 1 copy of IWD2 for the next sale.

As someone who bought Omerta when it came out, I cringe at everyone scoffing at it being $5 or even free...

No. I haven't played it in awhile, though. The battlemaps are actually pretty entertaining and have a lot of functioning game mechanics. It's just that the game itself is a chore to play on the strategy map. There's so few nuances like you see in the subtly complicated Gangsters or even similar RTS games like Mob Rule. For a game about running illegal trade, there's not much fuckall happening on the actual map which is, of course, a really stupid way to approach the genre and the setting. The game probably would have fared a lot better had it been marketed at a cheaper price, something like Paradox's approach to Warlock, for example. I'd buy it for $5/$10 maybe, but I'm a schmuck when it comes to mobster games.

I like mobster setting, but cyberpunk entertains me the most. Though the latest cyberpunk games were mostly shit.

Christ, had my cursor on Buy Now with Torchlight at 1 copy, clicked it as soon as it changed, and still didn't get it.

(Seriously, though, you're talking to wrong guy as far as deciding what goes on sale :) )

JudasIscariot You keep saying this, and I'm getting kinda curious...

My responsibilities include:

Talking with devs/publishers and helping them out to get their game on our service once they've signed on and what not.

Researching various games as far as what bonus content came with them back when they actually graced real store shelves. Keep in mind, not all games are cataloged on MobyGames :) I also try to get some research done as to whether a particular German version of a game is censored and whether it was ever officially uncensored by the developer/publisher after whatever authority in Germany that decides that certain games must be censored decides they can be uncensored. I also try to find out whether a game had any other language versions besides English because the more languages we have available, the more people can play :)

Coming up with some decent write ups for the older games (Wizardry 6 + 7 serves as an example where I sneaked a Codex shout out :D )

I also communicate with QA and our programmers in case there's a serious issue with a game that may or may not prevent it being released on time. This includes gathering feedback from those departments to send off to a developer.

I also offer some mechanical advice as far as cars go but that's just because people ask and I am happy to give advice so, really, that's not an official part of my job :D.

I hope that helps :)
