Chronicles of Riddick vs Torchlight :D
I've just tried installing the game and McAfee detected a virus, probably a false positive. I'm trying to install the game with McAfee disabled and I'll tell you wich one is the false positive file.
The false positive file is \System\Win32_x86\dvm.dll
I'm getting the same issue with the dvm.dll and it keeps wanting to download a tages driver (but keeps failing when it tries.)
I tried installing Chronicles and the launcher responded by saying thekprogram could not start because dvm.dll was missing. I too had googled Chronicles and dvm.dll and learned that it was part of the copy protection. I wasn't watching my PC when it installed, but from what I've read here my AV program may have removed dvm.dll.
Microsoft Security Essentials just picked is-NDV51.tmp up as Malware/Obfuscation directly after installing as well. Disconcerting :S... Would be interested in an offical word from GOG on this report and/or just how much of TAGES is still embedded in this game.
It's pretty obvious that the DLL is part of the crack. TAGES and Starforce cracks were notorious for setting off false positives in antivirus software due to the particular way these copy protections worked (IIRC they used some weird multilayered virtual machine system, and the cracks used evern weirder workarounds to get past them). TBH the users are 100% at fault here - why the fuck would you set up your antivirus to automatically delete possibly-maybe-not-sure-if-infected files without warning?GOG distributing games with DRM?

It is for using a POS like McAffeeSo it's the users fault if this antivirus is maye a tad bit overzealous?

Wanted to thank you for this. I was going to buy the game when it was reduced preorder price, then didn't, then kept putting off getting it because I don't have time to play anyway, and finally got it while it was half price thanks to your link. Figured it may as well sit there until I get to it, but it's hard to pass at this price. For those who haven't already bought it Legend of Grimrock is 50% off for the next 48 hours on GOG
