Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Codex Year of the Donut Codex+ Now Streaming! Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
That last one reminded me that someone at GOG tried to draw an anime girl once for a sale.

Hopefully with the apparent increase in weebs among the staff they can do it better nowadays.

I really liked GOG around 2008-2010 or so. Games were pretty cheap then, 90% of the titles costed less than 5 USD, usually around 2 USD.

Then the prices miraculously increased substantially, the same titles that costed only a few bucks previously suddenly were going for around 8-10 USD.

Then they introduced that Galaxy thing, while simultaneously neglecting the regular downloads (regular downloads are waaaaaay too slow, constantly dropping connections, etc.) When I contacted support the last time it took them about a month to respond and fix the issue with some broken download links.

Today I had another problem, I couldn't redeem some code to grab an updated version of a game. Okay, time to raise a support ticket... but it turns out you can't, now you have to "converse" with a bot that never understands what your problem is, so after about 15 minutes of frustration and going around in circles I just gave up, it's just impossible to contact support about the issue.

So I'm just downloading a torrent now

Citation needed on this. As far back as I can remember, almost all retro games on GOG cost $6 and some newer ones cost $10.

Ok, I stand corrected; I just checked my orders out of curiosity and it turns out that *most* games in my library in fact have the exact same *full* price since 2010. I just bought almost all of them 50% discounted (or more), being the cheap bastard that I am (e.g. for $2.99 instead of the regular $5.99 price).

I think that's what confused me, plus some games have indeed become more expensive, e.g. Syberia 1 & 2 now cost $14.18 each, and, according to my purchase history, their full price was $9.99 in 2010, and I actually bought them for $4.99 each.

Then I purchased Fallout 1 & 2 for 2 x $6.99 at full price in 2010; now they would set you back 2 x $10.89.

Well, then there is the well-known fiasco with the Enhanced Editions, for example I bought the original Baldur's Gate for $6.99 (discounted from $9.99). You can't buy that separately anymore, you have to shell out $20.92 for the EE which includes the original, whether you need the EE or not. But this is a slightly different issue.

In any case, most titles in my library have kept their price. My criticism about the flakiness of regular downloads and the declining quality of support still stands.

The reputation system has disappeared for me on their forum.
I don't know if that's a conscious decision on their part or just a bug.

I haven't had problems with downloads myself. I get full speed without that Galaxy thing the kids are using.

The decrease in traffic in the sub-forums have been noticeable lately, though. Not even that misandric cancer growth dtgreen posts much there anymore.

I don't understand the forum rep there. Is it just raw number if postwhoring? I hate whatever they use for their forum. It is clunky shit and has none of the thrills and chills the codex has. Fuck! Codex has probably the best interface for forums I've seen.

Posting pics, vids, links etc on GOG is a fucking chore. I'd rather clear brush.

I still use: IS THERE ANY DEALS
And CD-KEYS
Deals shows current and lowest ever. I'm not sure how accurate that is. I was told of non gog, non steam, non epic options that were DRM but I forget ATM.

As it turns out, that seems to be because I wasn't logged in, despite the fact that my name appeared at the top...
Clicking the link to my games library prompted me to log in, and now things are back to normal.
