DarkUnderlord we need a "PIRACY IS WONDERFULL FOR GAMES PRESERVATION" button
I'm just saying, if no one sells Spec Ops, the Suffering or Universe at War, then they only way to preserve and distribute them is through the seven seas.DarkUnderlord we need a "PIRACY IS WONDERFULL FOR GAMES PRESERVATION" button
The first Soul Reaver was delisted because Squeenix wanted a quick and easy solution to making it work on modern systems, so they just incorporated a fan patch into the official release. Hilariously, that fan patch used an unlicensed video format and had plenty of other issues, so they had to delist the thing and create a proper solution. After Crystal Dynamics was sold to Embracer, everything went quiet and the original game remains delisted to this day.And this game disappeared and I really have no idea what it was about.
The dudes on Gog are a bunch of pansy asses.I would say that it is not "piracy", as "piracy" it is illegal trade. The correct term would be "fair use" or "abandonware". In fact, I was already kicked off the GOG forums once when I posted a link to download fully functional GTA 1, which was freeware a few years ago.
Users in general were completely hostile towards the publication of the link, which could be called false moralism. Anyway, it's good to see that users here react in a friendly way to these things.
Thoughts on this remaster for December on Soul Reaver 1&2. I don't recall GOG having the first reaver but only the second. Nvm, all 5 games are in my games. Currently, I guess the original Soulreaver was delisted.

I know they pulled The Suffering, but did they also pull Spec Ops?I'm just saying, if no one sells Spec Ops, the Suffering or Universe at War, then they only way to preserve and distribute them is through the seven seas.DarkUnderlord we need a "PIRACY IS WONDERFULL FOR GAMES PRESERVATION" button
There's also a cancelled reboot that was being developed for the seventh generation of consoles:That was a multiplayer game that was killed without mercy after a troubled lifespan, even when it was gaining traction. I remember that a humble bundle included it but it was like a month or so before the game shut down.
Yeah, it got pulled everywhere. I don't know why, maybe the Yanks didn't like there being a popular anti-war game showing the horrors of PTSD and American war crimes before starting their foreign intervention shit again.I know they pulled The Suffering, but did they also pull Spec Ops?I'm just saying, if no one sells Spec Ops, the Suffering or Universe at War, then they only way to preserve and distribute them is through the seven seas.DarkUnderlord we need a "PIRACY IS WONDERFULL FOR GAMES PRESERVATION" button
No, they do not. At least moderation does not. Just the other day they deleted my post about a fitgirl repack.I would say that it is not "piracy", as "piracy" it is illegal trade. Abandonware is not a real legal term but an excuse for people to pirate stuff without guilt. On the other hand free use is a legal term, but it has to be established beforehand. Companies don't know how to handle copyright though. This happens because everything's owned by a third party made up of moneybags kinda people. I do wonder just what is the rationale behind such a decision. If they didn't want us to "pirate" it, then they shouldn't have pulled it off shelves. They aren't making money either way, so why should they care other than having an ego trip?
