Think of it in the way that KS devs do their early bird tiers.
But damn, I shoulda gotten AW early bird. 90% off for a AAA console title thats less than 5 yrs old? Not sure how that reflects well on AW...

They've already given Alan Wake out for pennies in a Humble Bundle and then again at a 90% discount on Steam. They're giving it out for next to nothing to promote Remedy's next game.

I'm not entirely sure how selling Alan Wake on Steam and GoG serves to promote a XBone exclusive.

Still have everything I would want already except a few Sierra games, but... meh.

I buy too many GOG games at full price, dammit.

JudasIscariot will there be more promos or this is as good as it gets?

still waiting for a Tex Murphy and Disciples 75% discount pack ;)

I played Zafehouse Diaries for a bit. It's an interesting little gem where you can have your group modify switch blades into spiked switchblades :D

Lots of layers to this game as you not only have to deal with the ever-present zombie threat but manage the social relations of the group a bit as some people will like each other and some will outright detest someone else. You can modify people's backgrounds in the game IIRC and you can also use rumors to influence relations. On the zombie front you have to constantly make decisions between fortifying yourself in a given location or just doing the minimal effort required and constantly changing locations. You also have random events that happen sort of like in King of Dragon Pass. For example, there is a guy who's looking for help with a super zombie of some sort. You can help him out or just send him on his way and bear the consequences, whatever they may be, of your decision. You can also get an event where you can send off a party member to be used as bait :D.

As far as promotions go, I am sure there will be plenty more :D

Bad wording on my side.

I meant price cuts during this "2013 sale summer" period.

I'm hoping they get together a 'pick your own bundle' before the sale ends.
Like when they had the 5 games for 10$ promo and you could choose the 5 from a list. Or likewise -80% for 5 games from a list (how I got Divinity2).

Little chance of that, but otherwise I'll have already finished my GOG purchases for this sale.

Today, you can buy Daikatana :D. At least that's the only game left for me to buy from today's promo bundles.

Part of me shows some morbid curiosity, but given the comments, boredom is the worst sin a game can commit.

Daikatana is quite an educational game. There are bad games, there are games that do only something wrong - some weapons are useless, some mechanics are broken.....

Daikatana does everything wrong. It's not 'boredom' - Daikatana is not only boring as hell in most levels: plot, gunplay, level design, bugs, soundtrack..... all is hilariously bad. The first levels are pretty much 'What is wrong in traditional FPS design, EPIC EDITION'.
Today, you are so desensitized about 'bad' FPS design that in most cases it's difficult to see clearly what is wrong: Daikatana is refreshing as a bad movie - you see the mistakes, and start recognizing them in other games. Even old ones. After playing Daikatana I realized, for example, how bad is Quake II.

All said and done, for that, it's worth some pennies. I know it sounds delirious, but...

Serpent in the Staglands Divinity: Original Sin Project: Eternity Torment: Tides of Numenera Shadorwun: Hong Kong
I bought signal ops yesterday, played about 10 min. The gameplay has some cool ideas, but obviously with 10 min I don't know if it fulfills it's promise. The atmosphere is good at the beginning too, but it could devolve. It's a dark humor setting and it's easy to go too far to the humor side with those.

Technically, it's super consolized. Steam overlay doesn't work, all controls have Xbox pictures (which is more distracting that normal because the controls are very un-orthodox.

idk if that helps you.

I broke down and picked up The Witcher 2 for $6. I doubt I'd see a better deal for that in the near future, and I liked the first one well enough to give the second a chance even though I read here that they dumbed down some of the elements that made the original game so enjoyable. Don't know when I'll get around to playing it, though.

There are some real gems that were for sale, but you had to get some bad games in the mix. The Thief games and original Deus Ex, but also the horrible Deus Ex: Invisible War and Daikatana. Or the Might and Magics, but also with Crusaders and Might and Magic 9. Lots of near perfect bundles, though I wish I could have removed a few of the bad seeds and still got the full discounts.

I'm trying to not buy games right now until I clear some of the backlog, but GOG is making that difficult.

You can't really dumb down Witcher 1 -- it wasn't particularly deep in the first place.

As much as I liked the game, have to agree. Wish they'd left in the styles, at least - would have made the fighting less samey.

The backlog of GOG games I have to beat is still growing, back to Ground Control, heh.

I was going to pick up King of Dragon Pass but I read the developer's blog where they state they've essentially abandoned the PC version but made a ton of new content and improvements for the iOS version. Absurd.
