Vice City (the game) also had minorities - Latinos, Jews and so on. This can be said about every GTA (El Burro - Latino, LGBT and animal lover :D) The difference is not their mere presence, but the overall tone and inspiration. This Vice City is not a gangster Miami, but a degenerate Orlando.

I wouldn't judge it so harshly. Finally a game that seems to deal with some issues in real life. Think what you want about big-assed negressess rushing on top of cars - this is the world we live in. GTA only changes the proportions, but not the ingredients themselves.

In other words, like the world, like GTA.

But there's a difference, isn't there? Crime stories are popular because they allow us to overstep the boundaries of our mediocre reality. The world of crime is a world of possibilities. Living fast, danger, beautiful easy women, (real)power--that is, power of life and death. The crime story is, in a sense, our form of epic, and the only way to depict certain larger characters outside of fantasy and science-fiction.

The grime and "degeneracy" are a background for this kind of setting, because it's there you can escape. The corrupt cop, the street hooker, they represent a kind of freedom, as well. Through them you get to know a different kind of world, an underground world without rules. It's the hidden promise of that world that pulls you in.

I put "degeneracy" in quotes, not because these things aren't degenerate, but because I believe there are worse things we don't talk about. A cop who takes bribes is less degenerate than one who spouts politically correct bullshit for career advancement, for example. Whoremongering is less degenerate than jacking off to porn. The consequences of these things are far worse and you see them everywhere.

The problem with "fat negresses twerking on cars is part of our reality", is that that kind of thing does not let your mind escape, rather the opposite. It imposes our commonplace reality on you at a deeper level, telling you there's nothing else, no outside world to escape to. Mind you, not all forms of crime are equivalent. That's why you have a lot of movies, some great ones, about the shenanigans of Italian Americans, but very little about the constant low level warfare of black America. San Andreas made an effort to depict the mythologized epic story of early 90s LA with its gang feuds and the rise of gansta rap--which, at least in the beginning, had its own originality and glamour--but even then it resorted to a lot of projection and out of place moralizing. The truth is too offensive to hear. Black crime is not glamorous, in the strictest sense it shouldn't even be considered crime, but an animal control issue.

Like someone said before, the worst thing about the trailer is the couple narrative (the woman on top, asking the man to trust her--obvious role reversal). Can't be a guy having fun by yourself, need to bring the girlfriend along. Crime is a thing for men, and not least for the reason that allows men(particularly in some matriarchal cultures) to escape the control of mothers and wives. Crime is sexist by default. That's the only reason it's even interesting, because it's free of the normalizing/moralizing grasp of women. Every good crime story is a "guys being guys" one. And yes, I've seen Bonnie and Clyde. That's a love story with a criminal background. And no, this doesn't look like that either.

Anyway, I've already written too much about this turd. I'll leave it at that.

Vice City had cubans and haitians, and even then, they mostly kept to their own neighborhoods. The rest was all white majority and some black minority and npcs.

It's not the 80s and it's been over 20 years since 2000. The number of non-hispanic white people in Miami is now down to 11%. They are now the minorities keeping to their own neighborhoods.

The change in tone is definitely related to a change (or Rockstar's belief) in what players see. Vice City dealt with all the themes of noir and, more broadly, the entire crime trend in culture - masculinity, the opposition of femininity to masculinity, strength, destruction, fall, wealth, sex, adventure, violence, redemption, friendship, hatred, revenge. The gangster fell to rise, but rises to fall. There are many topics here that focus on, and I write this without irony, real men.
For now we know it will be Bonnie and Clyde in a world of stupid degenerates. Degenerates, not because they are absolutely bad, but they are definitely corrupt. There are many ways to solve this. Will our heroes be their opposite, evil but not corrupt? Or will they deteriorate? Or maybe they will save the city with a slaughter?

Or maybe it will just be a simple story about a cuck and his lady who live on the margins of a "funny" society that lives for Tick-tock likes.

The potential is equal to the possibility of wasting it.

The not "punching down" statement was the most alarming thing. Because we know what that means to the woke crowd and if they go that route they'll never make anything interesting or worth wasting time on ever again.

Some of the comments on the Youtube page are hilarious, Eric Butts wannabees the lot of 'em...

WwzVtuS.png

Also, when did this become a thing?...

D0QEtFo.png

Surviving to play a game, and praying for "the fallen" ?!? WTF?!?

Lads, I'd LOVE to see a worthy Golden Axe sequel, another quality Avernum game, more Deus Ex up to the standard of the original...but on my death bed I'll be thinking of family, friends, the sexy women I knew, the laughs I had etc. and that's what I'm also questing for more of in the meantime too. Games are great, but FFS anyone who gave THAT much of a fuck about GTA to see it as a sole reason to survive are better off dead.

There is connection between nonsensical account names and gibberish comments.

If the things shown are not bullshots, then on a techinical level the game is impresive - the dimension of city, the amount of objects on screen and render distance, plus the overall detail, also the fauna might have some kindo "ecosystesm" simulation like RDR2 did
And the story seems its going to be a more "emotional engagement" ™ affair

I may be wrong, but considering R* output since GTA5, it seems to me that their current game making model is something along these lines:
> make sandbox with astronomic production values, really AAA+ stuff that pushes the envelope for the rest of the industry
> regarding game design, the focus is the cinematic story campgain, everything else is either there to support said campgain - free roam sandbox exploration is a side concern, it's really just there because that's what R* is traditionally know for
> these two elements are the core attractions - it's what pulls audiences and accolades
> once your new product is well established, open the flood gates with the release of the online mode - what truly really sells the game on the long run
> sit on your ass for 7/10 years, occasionally releasing some stupid new online mission you cobbled together in a few weeks

Don't care for this series and probably won't this touch even if I get for free (like I did for 5)

They already established a precedent for dishonesty with San Andreas, where you had a criminal protagonist who was a victim of evil cops. Then you had Nico in GTA IV, who was a pretty good guy who occasionally dabbled in mass murder. Good GTA protagonists are sociopaths with not a lot of backstory, but obviously that ship has sailed.

Your Tiktok prediction is probably closest to what'll happen. There'll be some preachy SJW stuff, but probably too unfocused to discern a real agenda.

That whole scene at the beginning of the game with CJ and Tenpenny and the other cops?
All it's missing is Pulaski kneeling on CJ's neck.

Ash what's your take on GTA 4?

I didn't play it enough to be able to give a :obviously: analysis, but it seemed like realism for realism sake and a loss of the gameplay-centricity of the past. This could be totally wrong, though I doubt it, especially since it is a late 2000s game. I never actually properly sat down with it, only briefly handling the controls. From what I heard (common opinion, reviews) and saw (when I played it briefly myself and watched a friend play), I determined I should not bother with it and to move on to other, better games. Combat seemed to be a slight improvement though, unlike 5's regen health popamole shit. Also mid-late 2000s music is degenerate trash and this is very much present in the game from what I experienced.

A zoomer tik tok game made by tik tok zoomers.
NO. this isn't even made by zoomers lol. Zoomers, everything they are, is older generation's doing, the generations above them. All the shit games, shit movies, shit music our disgusting degenerate elders have been shitting out for maximum profits, all our garbage virtual world we produced called the internet. They are tik-toking, fortnite-dancing, microtransaction-gambling, smartphone social media-addicted, soyified stunted hedonistic individuals because of the greed and influence of the FUCKING SELLOUTS chasing profits and the self above all - specifically Gen X and Boomers. Politicians, game devs, food manufacturers, landlords, fathers and mothers. Doesn't matter. If they're between say 50-90, they've created a very fucked up world for younger generations to deal with. Their greed, heartlessness and lack of foresight knows no bounds. Lets make housing, an essential need, a lucrative investment at our children's expense without proper rules and regulations! Lets put soy and industrial oil in all the food to cut costs! Lets spend billions marketing cigarettes to kids and the poors! Lets make music degenerate as fuck because market research determined that will bring max profits, who cares about moral integrity and soul!? Let's outsource jobs to india and china, or import immigrants en masse to keep wages and costs low! We're fucked. Zoomers? lol they're kids. they're not responsible for the impending collapse of society.

Can't wait for this tranny-cuck relationship drama with twerking on cars. I usually complained that many developers/publishers don't bother releasing on PC or release years later, but now I'm gonna thank them. Dog bless Rockstar.

weak song choice tbh

Yeah, it’s a pretty low energy song, and it doesn’t quite match what the trailer is going for with showcasing the craziness of Florida.

Trailer needed a song like Nine Lives, AM 180, Simon Says, Rubber Band Man, Shimmy Shimmy Ya, Superheast, or maybe Those Damned Blue-Collar Tweekers. I’m Afraid of Americans would’ve also been funny.
