GreedFall - Gold Edition - new colonial-themed action-RPG from Spiders

Does it have enough deph in combat system to support hard difficulty?

So far, I think so. It's still tough, and I know they didn't do any level scaling, so I imagine it'll only get more difficult. Firearms are a bit OP, but still fairly nicely balanced. You can get fucked up pretty quickly if you don't know what you're doing.

Have to ask though, do you get XP for killing stuff, or is it only quests?
Yeah, as far as I can tell, you get XP off kills.
Is it better than Inquisition? Because inquisition can be pretty good when soloing as a shield fighter.

It's not tough at all. Even ACG said that he found the game too easy on insane, and I never figured him for a hardcore gaming type.

Never played Inquisition, and I feel it's not a good comparison from what I've seen. Pretty different combat system all together.

My character walks to the palace to speak with his retardo cousin-governor (who will totally not fuck our colony up and game absolutely won't present us with a dilemma ensuing from that, but I digress).
Some native m'lady walks after him.
Guards stop her (damn incels).
She spouts some gibberish in no-really-it's-not-Celtic.
My character turns around to ask what's that shit 'bout.
She says she needs to see chief of our village (guards now chuckle at her, absolute racist swines, this setting needs some social justice I say, ekera!).
My character asks who the fuck is she.
Síora (that's her name) says she's a daughter of the chief of her village.
A pause.
A moment of fuckin' silence for last of my brain cells.
My character asks ARE YOU A PRINCESS THEN?!
Síora pauses and goes wat?
My character says OF COURSE YOU CAN GO WITH ME AND SEE THE GOVERNOR, GUARDS LET THE M'LADY THROUGH.

...

Why would a diplomat - as your character is - not quickly discern that in his dialect she would be considered a princess and of great importance?

If what I described above doesn't sound like an absolute retard of a character then I don't know what to say to you. This game is written just awfully. Would you imagine any normal person of education, and our character is a legate (whatever that means, game still hasn't explained), acting this way, or in any way that he/she acts throughout the game for that matter? Ah you're a princess then! What the fuck you cucumber sandwich, are you 16? How many villages do they have? Do they have royalty based on inheritance or are their leaders elective? I as a player don't know that and the player character doesn't manifest any knowledge that would give credence to such a juvenile statement.

Main character clearly has a princess fetish, very common for people from the Merchant class, always trying to wed into aristocracy

He said that to try to illustrate to her that she has an elevated social standing in their eyes. It was actually fairly clever, if not misguided. I think it puts both characters at an equal standing in naivete. She doesn't know what a princess is and he doesn't know what a chief's daughter is until that moment.

But does she? She's a native and as far as we know natives are considered to be barbarians (expect perhaps by Thélème...s?ites?ans? who convert them to their faith in Don Matteo), their lands are colonised without pardon, and most probably they are just pushed back from their former territory by means of warfare. Nobody asks them what's their opinion, they are considered as lesser than civilised people. Why is my legate now so fuckin' modern and progressive that he consideres a girl who claims to be (remember, she gives no proof, she can be an assasin sent by the natives to kill the governor as far as my retarded character knows, for hell she can be a magical suicide bomber, ready to explode with arcane energy moment she closes in on the governor) a daughter of a chief of some backward village to be a princess in any way. You know it's stupid and you don't want to admit that.

A major design flaw Greedfall shares with The Technomancer is that non-combat skills are divided into a seperate upgrade category.

Why bribe or sneak past enemies when your character is an OP god no matter what? There needs to be some trade off in order to give non-combat skills meaning.

Oh yeh of little faith, does roleplaying amount to so little in your worldview that you need an incentive for it

Roleplaying isn't fun if your character has no weaknesses.

No, I think that anyone who has deductive skill, is charismatic, and diplomatic in training could come up with such a response. The fact that it's completely lost on her is the funny thing. Lighten up. It makes sense in terms of the characters, but backfires on our main character for that very reason.

Am I the only one getting framerate drops like *mad* on a game with PS3 character models?

It's crazy what I'm getting with a solid GPU/CPU for this engine, AC Odyssey is much more consistent

Because you're playing on a 2010 engine that keeps getting shit piled up on it to look marketable in 2019.

Well that seems pretty normal to me,the leaders of character's country are called princes. It is natural to assume that rulers in her tribe are princes and that rulers in his country are chiefs.

Anyway i just finished the opening and am interested in the game. It does have that modern shit of ignoring race and just making everything a melting pot.....we will see.

Also a lot of annoying retards here that don't play the game or games in general. The codex does need a nice clean up.
