People on steam are losing their mind, Cleve created addicts with his game and now he put them all on withdrawal with the new broken update. Coincidence? Or is there a deeper reason?

At first they were SJWs and malcontents complaining because he's a neanderthal Nazi supremacist in a bunker. Then they pirated the game to make YT videos and bash the game.

Little did they know this was Cleve's plan all along, for now they are hopelessly addicted and he is about to drop the massive DRM anti-pirate banhammer. Remember, the first taste is always free.....
I've stalked the youtube but haven't really found any negative videos about Grimoire (except for WearyAdventureer who was a secret fan all along). Can you provide examples of such videos?

I haven't seen such videos either. Perhaps because all criticism of Grimoire is political and/or personal. Wake me up when any of those SJW cucks organize their wincing into coherent arguments. Never gonna happen. You'd be pushed hard to find any legitimate design flaws. Grimoire is really a prestigious dish for monocled gentlemen.

So, finally got my backer key (1st campaign) over the night. Will wait until manual is out and bugs are sorted out (a little bit).
Anyone who has already played a bit can shed some light on how Grimoire's classes and races (more or less) map to the Wizardry ones?
I'd like to do some theorycrafting and prepare some potential ideas for my party. I love this aspect of Wizardry games, I guess with more races/classes Grimoire will deliver similar levels of characterbuilderfag joy :)

Take a short break from all things Grimoire to find a new version and new problems on one's return...

:mixedemotions:

Perhaps time for Melbourne-based Codexers to stage an intervention, staking out local MacDonalds branches and harassing any tired-looking Neanderthals they encounter about user testing for future patches.

Relocated, due to issues with the Pacific ring of fire:

http://vault-co.blogspot.com/2013/05/secret-relocation-of-vault-co.html
Been relocating my family the past week.

We've been talking it over for years, finally got around to it.

I checked my mailbox and had a ton of letters from people worried I might have decided the flag had gone up so I welded myself inside the shelter.

The shelter had both hatches and two doors cut off a few weeks ago and was backfilled with about 8 tons of sand and rock after I cleaned it out and brought all the good electronic equipment up. The quonset and staging room was smashed in with a rockpick at my request, I was proud to see it stood up to quite a beating before it finally caved in.

Finally the mold met a force it could not defeat.

We have been busy organizing alternative shelter in our new location.

I have been worried about facing the Pacific Rim now since 2009 and expressed misgivings many times to my wife that we settled in the wrong place. After some research we realized that a far superior survivalist city existed in Australia that we had not considered prior to moving to the Gold Coast. One that did not rest on the Ring of Fire and was not historically subject to tsunami. I had been having repeated nightmares about a wall of water so high it blotted out the sun approaching our mountain redoubt. I'm not partial to dreams as a method of predicting the future but after you have had that same dream a couple dozen times you wonder if your subconscious is trying to tell you something.

It is really beautiful here, possibly the most beautiful city on the entire planet. I think of it as Switzerland down under.

My son and I were exploring the local infrastructure and underground it runs for miles and miles. You can cross half the city without surfacing once you know where the entrances and exits are.

We are very happy here, we had a few minor hiccups but otherwise it is even better than we had imagined. I am just getting my study (an independent building now from the house) organized and putting my development machines back online. We should be back to normal operations within a week or so.

Not surprising. In fact he should be glad to be still near to the positive 70% mark, given he wiped the savegames twice in 3 days.

I suppose it will go up again as soon as he reaches a mostly stable version. Unless he decides not to implement a beta testing group, that is. If this madness continues...

Well people are getting butthurt over the save game issue/the game not running at all and just refunding it after leaving a negative review. Plenty of the new reviews say that the game should really be in early access/beta branch and how they were duped into thinking it was a complete game, blah blah blah.

Dunno if Grimoire can still recover from this misstep. Its target audience is very much finite in contrast to AAA games.

Alot of people are mad about about the saved game thing- I, mean one poor chap on Steam had 3 whole hours in that he lost- 3 hours! Not acceptable!!!

No, honestly, if not for the save game issues of the last few days this game would be sitting in 'Overwhelmingly Positive' territory and tbh I can understand why some people are mad- Every update has bumped the score down somewhat for legitimate reasons imho.

Cleve has to get a handle on this because its a shame to see this masterpiece (which I really feel this game is) being brought down by really silly savegame issues. I'm scared myself to start again because at this point who knows how long until I have to restart- Not because I want to but because my save wont work anymore or my character Library that I rolled for hours is nuked.

I think we're probably a whole lot more forgiving for a million reasons but if I had bought a game off Steam that had these issues in the last 3 days I probably would have refunded and left a bad review as well so I understand their point even if I dont personally feel that way.

And welcome back Powertorment!

Agreed on all the issues and Cleve really needing to sort out his testing and processes for these patches, but also have to laugh at some of the critics who hang around the forums after proudly announcing they've refunded... and yet should one assume they are still hooked?

I know I said I would wait for the manual, but the pull is strong...maybe I should just play Wiz 6 or 7 and consider that education enough?

I have no idea why Cleve feels compelled to not use the Beta feature of steam, and why he decided to trash the V1.207 saves.

Just give people a smooth ride and they won't get upset, it's that simple. Adding little bit of process would alleviate 90% of these issues.

Anyone waiting for stability can easily roll characters or play through the newbie dungeons in the different starting areas without feeling like they wasted time. To my understanding the starting areas don't play the same if you didn't start there and maybe you learn which one you prefer to start with for your real run.

If you want to play now, play 1.2.0.1. it's fine.

Yeah but I'm not sure we should assume any version is going to actually end up being playable.

I have a funny feeling that the final 'fix' will require everyone to start over.

If youre not worried about that- By all means start on version 1 but I'd just be careful not to expect that thats going to remain a game you can play regardless of version.

Ah, cool, ta.
I would imagine (being an Aussie not an American) that this move would be like going from Florida to Oregon :)

he said, exactly one post after telling another guy he did the right thing in buying the game.
LOL- I didnt mean it that way though. I meant any version prior to what we have right now.

I think we're all going to have to restart is what I am trying to say- Evidently not so eloquently =D

I would play 1.2.0.9 and then don't overwrite saved games, just manually delete them after a while
