Pay or we'll start chanting.
This particular wording makes the demand work every time.

Soooooo.... when come the crow-eating, self-sucking videos from the "it's just the superdemo, ololololololo" crowd? :smug:

So what if the game has really been 99.9% completed since 1997... imagine all this incline ready to be unleashed, yet hiding in the deepest safe-box of a nuclear vault in the australian desert.

One day Cleve has to give a detailed and honest account on how the development evolved during these 23 years. If it's a book, I'd purchase it.

I don't know men, for all the shit Cleve gave for Arnheim, Grimoire sure is filled up to the brim with rainbow coloured birds, mages gyrating their hips and men dressed in leather harnesses or chains and exposing their nipples...

My personal account: played about 18 hours so far. It's been a hard trip, but I must say that this is one of the best games I've ever played. If I can get past all the treacherous encounters and ingenious puzzles to the 40 hour mark, my money will be well spent. This kind of wonderfully intricate gameplay needs to be rewarded somehow, and I'm glad to be a part of it.

25+ rounds to FINALLY beat 3 fly-like things. NO PENETRATION and MISS dominated, probably 80-90% of the "swings", from BOTH sides. Didn't lose a party member, but this is kind of silly. Managed to keep one of them asleep each round, and it managed to keep both my Cleric and Wizard charmed/asleep each round and never failed to hit just those two characters, every time. This was (I believe) a random encounter in the starting area. Prior to this, I had a few battles with worms and hummingbirds and had little trouble, though it did take at least 12 rounds and a lot of failures to inflict damage.

The thing that got me the most is that my Warrior, wielding a newly found Grand Axe, failed to cause damage as often as my other Warrior armed with a piece of wood. Actually, I think my Ranger and his letter opener did more damage than either Warrior.

While I did leave a positive review and can't in good conscience knock the game, I've come to the conclusion Grimoire ain't for me, though I'll watch for the manual if and when it comes out. It just seems like a goodly percentage of the 600 hours would be futilely trying to kill small insects and worms.

Love the exploration, love the combat options, hate the time it takes to kill anything.

No, 1997 version is pretty barren beyond demo area, I broken through with hexedit and there is just a huge forest, unfinished royal bestiary with cockatrice encounter (nothing else there) and some roads running across the sky.

Since 2005, OTOH, it was 99.9% complete.

It gets much better after level or two. And when good weapons and lethal blow begin rolling in, it mostly becomes a breeze. Until you start meeting 6 ?FLYING GIRL? or something and taste massed spell spam for the first time.

"Fast-forward through combat" really ought to be a toggle you press once that lasts until you press it again instead of something you have to hold down.

So what's that DRM talk? Cleve finally found out where to press the button to enable the Steam wrapper?

That's too much incline for me, next time you know he'll get the overlay and cloud saves working.

What the hell does the guy mean with "DRM-protected"?
Is he gonna put Denuvo-Decline Sap technology on his game or something?

The more he restricts access to his game, the less people will be able to enjoy the Incline and his masterpiece will be a niche for RPG fans.

Don't fall into the trap, Cleve! Let poor folks enjoy your game if they can't afford it.

I just want alt-tab (but the overlay would be okay too)

-Anyone else having trouble with encounter rates being borked? I re-started my party back when 1.2 came (actually im so confused on version numbers now I dont really know- Was after the debacle with the 1.7 games not working anymore) and kind of waited for a couple updates to go smooth- Got the autoupdate last night and I'm no longer getting random encounters no matter what setting I'm on. Ive had like 1 in 5 mins and have been running around 2 maps trying to fight things to level.

edit- Yeah somethings wrong with my game- Turned encounter rate to max and ran back and forth across the map for another 5 mins and nothing... Only seems to be happening to me though

But I would expect that my party's increased ability to actually hit and do damage would be mitigated by tougher enemies.

If that's not the case, then you make an excellent argument to carry on :positive:

Couple of things to bear in mind, in response to someone who had similar issues

Let's say your penetration curve is ahead of their toughness curve :smug: Just don't forget to keep your vitality up.
