SSH! Let the mouth-breathing idiot who doesn't know the difference between "and" and "or" keep doing his thing.
Mouthbreathing idiot? Hey, it's not me who thinks that DRM is okay now, and that banning users with dissenting opinions is just fair enough, and releasing a game with a buggy and crappy UI that would have been shat on even back in '93 is the best thing since sliced bread and breaking savegames on a daily,... ah nevermind.
I do know the difference between and/or. Do you?

No, I don't, please try harder to explain concepts that most toddlers are familiar with.

By those standards Grimoire will never be finished.

By Cleve standards the game was finished in 2013. He even said so.

Sorry that one of my standards is being able to play it start to finish.

There is nothing wrong with Grimoire's UI, in particular not if you compare to 1993 games. Complaining about the UI in this fashion is like reading a book only to complain about the font. It really shows that you do not "get it".

Apparently, you don't, and not only does your posting history imply this, this sentence of yours is a perfect demonstration of it. Hint

"I do know the difference between and or or"

Idiot.

Yes Serus I admid I'm butthurt. What do you need citation for?
It was a jab - follow up on your knowledge of the difference between and / or. How do we know that you really do know the difference ? One as sceptic as myself needs evidence > "citation needed".

In short: I was just making an (admittedly shitty) attempt at being funny.

You do sound butthurt about Cleve but you are not the only one. This man Neanderthal does that to many people.

Is this some psychological study kind of thing? Is everyone repeatedly making objectively false statements just to see whether the uninitiated study participants eventually give in and start making false statements despite better knowledge, too?
That's actually the feeling I have since the advent of this thread.

I promise you all these things are going to get fixed or tweaked or polished in time. Right now I have two incredibly annoying bugs which had not existed for 20 years and then were introduced in the past two months. When I get those fixed and get the manual out I will spend quite a bit of time on Grimoire until it is truly a flawless classic. There is much balancing work, item editing and class/skill adjustment to do to get it really finely tuned.

Yea whatever. Guess I should be thankful that there are so many people happily helping out fixing this game so that whihy leftist decline enablers like me can eventually enjoy it, too. Cheers people, (almost) no sarcasm.

There was a glitch in the Tower of Knossos introduced when the red mosaic panel was set to "NO SLEEP" in order to make another region more interesting. Incredibly, this floor panel was directly underneath the monolith in Knossos Tower which you are supposed to sleep at in order to continue on to the summit. So many interactions in some of this data that a single tiny change can set off a huge series of dominos.

My apologies, this is fixed now. You should be able to ascend the ladder to do battle with Knorlos Knossos. If you were previously stalled in Gideon for this reason you should be able to finish this area now.

Took a step into a water / pool near the start, and it resulted in instant death for my party ... really? Really hope it was acid or something nasty, not just water - and there should be a sign around to encourage people to keep out of the water.
Not releasing the manual on day 1 was the best thing for Grimoire.

lol people who never played Wizardry whining about a game they bought based on Wizardry's mechanics.

esé, that's Michael Shamgar, Cleve's coding pal from way back with Stones of Arnhem.

There is nothing wrong with Grimoire's UI, in particular not if you compare to 1993 games. Complaining about the UI in this fashion is like reading a book only to complain about the font. It really shows that you do not "get it".

It's terrible compared to Might and Magic 3-5, but JVC was always cutting edge when it came to accessibility (featuring automaps, minimaps, journals, and visible monsters far before Wizardry ever did).

Holy shit, how many hours have you clocked?
62 hours on steam. But I have played some more on earlier version without steam counting the hours, so I'd say 80~90 hours.

So the game ain't 600 hours long?

:hmmm:
It depends if Cleve is going to take 600 hours after release to fix all the bugs to claim the first person to finish this game took more than 600 hours. Although, if the game was balanced, no broken spells, weapons, skills, it would take a lot more to finish it.

"If you run into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole. If you run into assholes all day, you're the asshole."

Note that this does not necessarily apply to the Codex where most of us are, admittedly, assholes.
We are all (well, most of us) prestigious individuals of refined tastes and genius level intelligence. Begone !

I guess he cheesed his way through combat with the numerous exploits like I did. My estimate is that even with that I'll probably need 150-200 hours to finish the game - I like being thorough on every map. If I had to grind more, that number would easily double.
