Combat is carried out in simulated real time - with dice rolls and a turn based style system under the hood.

What does this exactly mean?

Many monster types will drop randomly generated loot and equipment
The player can hover over POIs and travel to them (such as the various maps/locations below) or investigate any random unmarked area - these unplanned visits will be drawn from a pool of randomly generated smaller maps, with their own set of randomly drawn events

I backed it, but I worry the price is going to hurt support.

$31 USD is the cheapest option to get the game, and that’s not very cheap.

remember with your music you need to have the less is more mind set when exploring areas to create tension.

And your fighting mechanic should really be turn based. For instance you have some dark pulsing sound with ship FX in the background while exploring, the ship it's self is the FX.

Then when you run into a creature you can punch your distorted 80s synths etc. That doesn't mean that whole of the ship would have that atmosphere. It's just one way of creating horror as an atmosphere.

yes I am checking out your demos on your kickstarter page for audio.

Careful of having to many bright sounds all the time when making this soundtrack too. These are just my suggestions.

And carry on I love what I see and read here! It's just oozing!

One thing I'm not clear: Will you be able to save anywhere at any time, or only in fixed "save stations"? Note that I only said "save", no "save-scumming", so limiting save slots is okay.
The art style reminds me of Druuna, but sadly no tits so far. The font of the pics and videos shown so far is a bit hard to read for me due its small size. Hopefully it can be changed.

In other Hibernian News, Our First Stretch Goal has been announced - R.I.O (Robotic - Inventory - Officer) So, imagine the safe room chest from Resident Evil on legs and it follows you around; that's essentially the concept of R.I.O.

Looting dungeons and then dragging all the junk out to be sorted sold and equipped can be a major hassle - but not so with R.I.O. While it won't follow you into the deepest depths of the Ship and get rough and ready with armies of mutants alongside you - it will however help you carry all the loot out.

Robotic Inventory Officer or R.I.O.
Mechanics for R.I.O would include but are not limited to;

  • Set to follow your character
  • Set to wait for you
  • Large item storage capacity
  • Can be called to your current location
Possibly also;

  • Auto sort items
  • Auto-loot corpses for you
R.I.O is trained to run away if too much damage is taken, and will time lock if too damaged.

Best part R.I.O might just be an Inventory now but who says you couldn't maybe one day create your own Pet R.I.O and design that character? Who's to say it isn't already a plan and maybe a future stretch goal already?

Guess you'll just have to stay tuned

I wonder if there will be dialogues. Not necessary, of course, but it would be an extra flavorful touch if there are desperate survivors you can talk to (and kill for loot).

Different teams.

Vic is leading Hibernaculum and is funding through Kickstarter.

I’m leading Fallen Gods and funding it myself out of pocket.

So Hibernaculum won’t slow down (or speed up) FG.

My guess is FG will come out first (it’s now 10 years into development and we have a fully playable game that is 90% or more content complete). But Vic has thrown himself into Hibernaculum with a singular focus, while FG is never going to be higher than third on my priority list, given my dayjob and kids. And the spectacular success of the Kickstarter means Hibernaculum will likely have a budget many times larger than FG’s. So it’s totally possible that it could overtake FG!
