I had some fun with Blood Money but the series always bugged me really. But this one I think is probably the worst of all. The maps are amazing, but the game is just so willingly goofy and silly. I get that they are happy to have some sort of comedy element to them, but the gameplay itself is just so shit. It is not much more than a basic memory/puzzle game. You follow some mindless NPC around the map doing the exact same 3 routines over and over, even if that is having the exact same conversation with the same 3 people forever on repeat. You set a trap at one of the locations and wait. Or I do what feels like exploiting the shitty mechanics and wait for them to go around a corner, out of sight of the bodyguard or whatever, and I just gank them and walk away.
It is amazing that the locations are so elaborate yet the gameplay itself is so retarded. I am also amazed by so many positive reviews. I completed the whole thing in just a few days and although I can replay the same half dozen maps again to try a different approach, it just seems like a shitty excuse for content. BloodLines Money had a lot of missions, this has about 6 and somehow it is ok now to expect people to replay them over and over. Why is that? Are they considered bigger? Because most of the space is not even used. So you have a hotel with 100 rooms but if the guest you have to kill goes from the lobby to the restaurant and back to his room, then the 100 rooms are fucking pointless.
Not only does it seem dumb, but the endless reloading is idiotic. You try something out, fail, reload, gank them the second time now that you know exactly where they go and what they do. Reloading makes it more fun if anything because you get to try more elaborate things that you would never pull off first time. But a game designed around endless reloading is just weird. They should have done some Sands of Time shit so you can reverse time 20 seconds and try something again instead of all the goofy reloads.
Also there just aren't many mechanics at all in the game. You sneak up on people and gank them. Or you can can poison their drink which makes them throw up in a nearby plant pot and then you sneak up and gank them... Big deal. Or you drop a heavy object or blow something up/electrocute them. Every single kill is done one of these ways. It seems so linear. Also the punishment for killing none target people seems to fly in the face of its own design. So you turn on a hose, break a plug so you now have a trap. But all sorts of people wander through it, so you have to reload to know exactly when just your target will walk over the puddle and you set the trap then. It seems so artificial and stupid. Also I hate how easy it is to escape. You gank someone and walk out the room and guards run in like !!!!! but because you walked around a corner it is fine. And there are big body sized lockers all over the place, and every location has 100 bathrooms.
This isn't a Hitman game, it is a dumb as shit console tard 1 click to win game. Only you have to reload several times to work out when that 1 click should be done. Just another typical shitty modern game, that only exists because the average gamer is a low IQ fuckwit.
